Customer Review: Good choice for temporary use

This is a very good choice if you need a toilet seat extender for a short period of time (for example, while recovering from surgery or a back problem) or if you need something for a friend/relative who is visiting and could benefit from such a device. However, it is not the best choice if you need something permanent.
Overall, this is a decent extender. It installs without any tools - just lift the seat and position this on the toilet. It raises the height 5 inches from the top of the bowl.
It fit three of the four toilets in my house. It would not fit on the fourth one unless I removed the existing seat since the seat was pretty thick and had a hinge that jutted out. But, for most toilets, it should fit just fine.
It includes four self-adhesive non-skid pads (each about the size of a quarter) to grip the toilet bowl. They do a decent job of keeping the extender stable, but to be extra safe, I went to a hardware store and picked up some additional adhesive non-slip pads. It's not absolutely necessary, but it's a low cost way to add extra stability.
The reason why I don't recommend this for permanent use is that there are no cutouts in the front or back to aid in personal hygiene. Plus, while the portability of this unit is a big plus for temporary use (just pick it up and put it away when you don't need it), permanent use would benefit from a more secure system that bolts to the toilet bowl.
Great choice, however, for temporary use. Also a good value (at least the white color is - the blue is a bit more pricy)
