This will crush pills but depending on how hard the pills are, it can be really difficult to turn the handle enough times. And even if you try opening and closing it multiple times (which does seem to help) sometimes it gets stuck in the closed position. I consider myself fairly strong, but am often asking my husband for help to open it back up... I get this pill crusher and use it twice, and the top cracks in half.... I don't know if it was just my unit or what, but I think it's poorly made.
