Customer Reviews of EatSmart Precision Digital Bathroom Scale w/ Extra Large Backlit 3.5" Display and "Step-On" TechnologyCustomer Review: Good value in an inexpensive digital scale Summary: 5 Stars
I received this scale a few days ago and am quite satisfied with the scale and it's operation.
Things I like -
The scale has a large platform.
It turns on easily.
It seems to be accurate - weigh yourself once and then again and the weight doesn't seem to vary much if at all.
It's aesthetically pleasing.
It has easily obtainable and easily replaceable batteries.
I can't find anything not to like at present.
I will update this as time goes on, but at present I am very happy with this scale.
This scale has an auto calibrate function - if you move the scale it needs to auto calibrate - it might display 4.8 or 2.2 - this is the weight of the glass - it will need to auto calibrate if you move the scale - I had this happen to me and I thought the scale had died - it didn't.
I called the sellers customer service to report that the scale was defective (it really wasn't)- without hesitation they said "we would be happy to accept a return (after 5 months of use) ) - the problem was - I had replaced the batteries and it needed to auto calibrate .
Again I have to state that I am happy with this product and additionally I have to state that I am happy with the seller.
GREAT SCALE - GREAT SELLER -
IF YOU NEED A SCALE - BUY THIS ONE - IT'S A GOOD VALUE
Customer Review: Precise and Accurate Summary: 5 Stars
I had gone through a series of cheap spring-style scales when, for health reasons, I decided to get something more accurate. The scales I had used before tended to be five to ten pounds off and did not give a consistent reading. It was also difficult to determine within two pounds what my weight was. Zeroing these scales did not calibrate them either. I would need to add several pounds to get it to match what the scales read at the doctors' offices. It was an exercise in frustration.
When the EatSmart(tm) Precision Digital Bathroom Scale arrived, I was frankly skeptical. I knew that it was be much easier to read, even in a dark room, and that the digital readout with its decimal point would be more precise. But would it be more accurate? I used it for several weeks and could immediately tell that it was more accurate than my old scale. It gave me a consistent reading every time. On one of my monthly trips to the doctor, I weighed myself on the digital scale at the doctors office and it read 147.0 lbs. I was careful on my return home to do nothing that would alter my weight. Upon stepping on the scale in the same state of dress, I was delightfully surprised to find that my EatSmart(tm) Precision Digital Bathroom Scale read 147.0 lbs, a perfect match with the professional digital scale at the doctor's office. My compliments to the people at EatSmart for designing a scale that was both Precise AND Accurate.
Customer Review: Old, fat, and tickled pink! Summary: 5 Stars
Got my scales 2 wks. ago, and I'm tickled pink with them. At last, this old, half-blind, fat lady can weigh herself and actually READ what the scales say (unfortunately)! I have never had a problem turning mine on, as some say they have. It's as simple as tapping gently, then stepping on.
They are attractive and sleek and don't take up much space, yet the platform is large enough for even me to stand comfortably. And the numbers are HUGE and backlit...so easy to read for an old broad like me. One of the features I especially love is that my weight can still be read for several seconds after stepping off the scales. (This works great, unless my husband is standing near me and can see how much I REALLY weigh when I step off.)
I even use these scales to weigh large items for shipping that I sell on a popular internet auction site. I can turn the scales on, place the large box on the scales, wait a second, then remove it, and the box's weight is still there for me to read.....down to tenths of a pound. Previously I could not read the scales I had when I placed a large item on them....the weight reading was hidden. Now I don't have to take items to be weighed at the post office before shipping them. That's a bonus I hadn't expected.
How EatSmart can provide scales of this quality at such an economical price is beyond me, but I am grateful. I highly recommend them to anyone.
Customer Review: Best Scale I've Ever Owned Summary: 5 Stars
Coming from a Taylor scale and being extremely unsatisfied from it, I went to Amazon for some research. I came accross the EatSmart scale because it had the highest rating of any product I have ever seen. But it was only $30? I thought to myself that it must be one of those "for $30 you can't get any better...but if you spend more money you can get better" kind of products. But never the less it got such great reviews and I didn't need anything other than an accurate consistent scale. Well I got my wish.
The EatSmart scale is accurate (confirmed by cross comparison with a doctor's scale), consistent, and good looking. If anyone asks me what scale to get they are getting a link to this one and none other. I love this thing!
The ONLY thing buyers should be aware of is due to the technology of all scales that have calibrated systems like this is that if you move them, you will need to recalibrate it. So, for instance, I keep my scale in a closet in my bathroom; I can't weigh myself in the closet so I have to take it out, step on, disregard the number that shows up, wait for it to go blank again, then step back on for the accurate reading. Not a big deal, here's what I do:
take out the scale, step on, pee, brush teeth, step back on scale and note the correct weight. Simple!
Long story short: if you want a scale that accurately reads your weight, buy this one.
Customer Review: awesome scale! very impressed Summary: 5 Stars
this might have been the best choice i've ever made buying stuff on amazon. after trying out different scales in targets (weight watchers and the taylor line) and macys (the homedic line) and looking up their reviews i saw that their praise doesn't stack up to the amount of good reviews for this scale. (the most impressive review is the one that has a video clip where the reviewer is trying out the scale himself... watch it if you haven't seen it) i wasn't able to find a place that sells this scale so i blindly trusted all the reviews and purchased it without testing it. let me tell you, this scale is worth every penny. its accurate and precise - it so scary consistent that i thought maybe the scale was cheating and storing the initial weight it measures when someone first steps on it. i made my brother step on it to see if the number would change or if he would get the same numbers as i did... it gave him a different number for his weight that mine which is what was expected. i stepped back on, i got the same number it showed me before my brother stepped on. my brother stepped back on, and he got the number it gave him the first time. scary. initially i wanted a body composition scale by tanita but after reading about the inaccuracy and science of how those scales worked, i opted for the best regular scale and fat measurement calipers. hands down, this is the best regular scale i've ever used.
