These tablets consistently clean well in my older dishwasher and local hard water. I have had problems with detergent residue or poor cleaning with many leading brands (conventional and earth friendly), but always get good results with Ecover. This dishwasher tablet is a success 80% of the time. Dishes must be rinsed well, before putting them into the washer. The machine has to be run at a high temperature. Otherwise, glasses have white film. With the extra rinsing and hot water, how "environmental friendly" is this product?Customer Review: Product has a strong added scent/odor/fragrance.

In the reviews so far, no one has mentioned the added odor. It has a very strong scent, somewhat like Febreze. When I opened the package, the odor quickly traveled to the living room. Someone there wondered what the smell was.
The website product description says, fragrance, but for an ecologically sound product, that might mean a very mild smell, and not one that carries through the packaging. On the package itself it says, citrus fragrance, but it isn't any citrus that I am familiar with. Who knows what the fragrance consists of but it seems to be an artificial fragrance.
We are returning the product. Fortunately we bought through Amazon and can return products without hassle. In the future we are looking for unscented products, and will remember to look for the term fragrance, which seems to be the new keyword for scented.
Hopefully this review will help those with odor allergies in their decision making process.
Customer Review: OK if you want dried food on your dishes

I tried the Seventh Generation ones and LOVES them, so when they were out of stock I saw how great the reviews were on these ECOVER ones and decided they would probably work well too. NO WAY. These do not get my dishes clean. I would have to rinse every tiny scrap of food off of the plates for these to work and that would be such a ridiculous waste of water. The Seventh Gen ones actually work to break down the food bits and scour them away where this just swishes everything around. I am incredibly disappointed and now I have all of these boxes of something I HATE. I have already switched back to the Seventh Gen ones.Customer Review: Smells terrible
