Customer Review: USE YOUR OLD SCOOP OR GET RIPPED OFF!
Summary: 1 Stars

After my local store quit selling the Nuramigen Lipil (16 oz) and replaced it with Nutramigen Lipil with Enflora LGG (12.6 oz), I began to notice that my son's bottles would have bits of powder formula that did not get displaced within the water, no matter how much I shook the bottles. So I compared the labels.

The ingredients are virtually the same, except for the addition of Enflora LGG (Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG). The vitamins and minerals included in the formula are virtually the same with two exceptions: The formula with Enflora has 9mcg of Vitamin K and the formula without has 8mcg; The formula with Enflora has 8mg of Magnesium and the formula without has 11mg.

I was concerned about the new scoop. If you call Enfamil, they will tell you that the scoop is larger due to the density differences of each formula. I can't imagine that a few probiotics would change the density so much that the scoop would be 1.5 times as large. When examining the powder there is little, if any, difference. The label states that one packed level scoop of the smaller scoop (from the 16 oz Nutramigen without LGG) weighs 9 grams. The label from the 12.6 oz Nutramigen with LGG states that one packed level scoop (larger scoop) also weighs 9 grams. If you weigh the product from the packed level larger scoop it weighs more than 9 grams! That shows that there is product waste with the new larger scoop!

My research and experience drew these conclusions: 1) With the new Enfamil Nutramigen with Enflora LGG, you receive less product in the same size canister (3.4 oz less), which amounts to more than 10 scoops worth, or 20 prepared ounces of formula. 2) With the larger scoop, you are wasting even more product.

Everyone should keep their small scoops from the Nutramigen without Enflora LGG and use them instead of the larger scoops.

Customer Review: made my baby gag!
Summary: 1 Stars

My 7-month old son was recently diagnosed (through blood tests) with a milk allergy. He's had bad cradle cap and eczema on his face since he was about two months old. After trying MANY other formulas (Enfamil, Good Start Gentle Plus, Good Start Soy, Similac Advance, Baby's Only Soy), the doctor finally suggested going hypoallergenic. So we tried Nutramigen... he seemed okay for the first couple of minutes, then he pulled the bottle out of his mouth and gagged. I tried again... and again, he drank for a minute or two, then gagged again. Then he refused to drink any more. After reading up on hypo formulas I was expecting a bad smell, but I didn't think it'd be bad enough to make my son want to hurl!

My son never had any problems drinking all of the other formulas; this is the only one that actually made him gag. Maybe if I had started it earlier when his tastebuds were more immature, I would've had more success. I'm hesitant to give him the Alimentum because of the high sugar content. I guess my son will just have to continue suffering with rashes until I can find a formula that works for him. :(

Customer Review: Horrible new formulation
Summary: 1 Stars

I agree 100% with the other reviews on this product. Do not buy the Nutramigen with Enflora. It is a rip off and it makes my daughter's colic come back. I heard that they were going to stop making the old formulation and if that is true I don't know what Im going to do!

Customer Review: Best without enflora
