I received this grabber/reacher today and thought it was well made over my current one which is all plastic. However when I pulled the "trigger", the ends barely reached each other. Only the corner of the movable portion connected and there doesn't appear to be any way of adjusting it. I was going to exchange it but decided, for the price, it wasn't worth the effort. It would cost more to send it back between shipping and gas that I might as well keep it. It may be fine on larger item.Customer Review: WORST REACHER EVER

I have been using reachers since 1993 and this is easily the worst ever. Other than flimsy paper, it picks up nothing without creating a problem or just plain doesn't pick it up. Total waste of money. I have to struggle to get it to pick up basic items that other reachers pick up with ease. And even then, after picking up, the grip is very loose no matter how tightly I pull the grip...it does not grip items well and usually drops anything with the slightest weight. I bought the longer of the two, so it does reach items, it either just doesn't pick them or grip them well. I have owned this type of reacher before by a different manufacturer, which worked extremely well, hence I decided to try this one. If I could give it no star I would. Now I use it more like a dragger to drag things on the floor towards me and to pick up certain items that have an easily grippable part.
