Customer Reviews of Eva-Dry Edv-2200 Mid-Size DehumidifierCustomer Review: Recommended Summary: 5 Stars
My 500-square foot studio apartment, with no cross ventilation, swelters even with the a/c running and a Vornado fan stirring up the main room (18-foot square, doors closed). Frustrating and wasteful.
This dehumidifier has made the place immediately more comfortable--perhaps only a few % points different but still less clammy, and the a/c has run much less intensively.
It's compact enough to sit on the window sill and easy to move around. A useful and not obnoxious-looking object for a small space. Nicely designed, in fact. It's quiet enough that I forget it's running (granted there's a lot of other noise around here). Large enough to have an impact on the room, small enough not to be annoying, and costing less than one month's inflated summer utility bill. In its first five days during a heat wave, I have emptied the vessel once, it was easy and clean to do.
The previous users' comments were very helpful to me in deciding to buy this dehumidifier. I am aware of what its shortcomings may be (short life span, hot power cord--be careful with that). I wish mfrs made things to last since we're already swimming in garbage. And while I would rather not run the a/c at all, my foul mood is possibly worse than CO2.
So far, so good.With the windows kept closed, the dehumidifier could do the heavy lifting with only occasional cool bursts from the a/c.
Customer Review: Great purchase Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this being hesitant being that it's so small. Shipping was fast for free shipping. I set it up at night and the next day there was at least a cup or two in there. It's been running for about three days now and it's half full. My apartment is no bigger than 600 sq feet so it's small spaces but it dehumidifies the entire apartment to a noticeable difference. There's no more moisture on the windows and my mold problems are already getting better after three days. The item is so small also for it's capacity! It's like a foot tall egg shape really cute and sounds like a small computer fan which is great. Really happy I went with this instead of the 200 dollar compressor type one that's loud and huge. It may not seem like it's getting a lot out of the air but after a few days you can feel the difference in the air and to be able to get a cup of water out of the air in one day is actually a lot for my small apartment. The only thing is the converter does get kind of warm. Not an extreme hot but I do have it on a counter with the converter hanging so it's in the air and not on the floor or anything, just to be safe. I deff recommend this for a small apartment or just one bedroom or other room
Customer Review: Best purchase of the year!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just moved into a newer home and wanted to get a dehumidifier for my small bathroom to prevent mold and mildew build up. I saw the Eva Dry 2200 online and decided to buy one. I read that you should purchase a larger dehumidifier than what you need if you want the best results. 2200 square ft. is a much larger area then my bathroom, so I knew the Eva Dry 2200 would be a good choice, with price also in mind. When I received the Eva Dry and hooked it up, I was amazed! Within 24 hours the reservoir started to fill up noticeably. I've been moved in for exactly a month now, and I've already emptied the 2 liter water tank 4 times (with continuous running)! I do recommend turning it off from time to time to give the motor a rest. The Eva Dry 2200 is a nice looking machine and DOES run quiet. Don't listen to some of the other whiny reviews. It's a low hum, that's all. No big deal. I highly recommend this machine for anyone trying to pull moisture out of the air. It worked far beyond my expectations!
Customer Review: Works Better than I Imagined Summary: 5 Stars
This summer has been the flip side of our terrible winter here in Maryland: hot beyond belief and humid on top of the many days of 100+ temperatures. Luckily, early this summer I broke down and bought this dehumidifier for our large upstairs bedroom, the one that is the hottest room in the house. I was amazed how well this little appliance works.
Pluses:
1. It dehumidifies a large bedroom (25x15) very efficiently;
2. It is quiet (there is a very slight hum, but it is not noticeable to me or my spouse);
3. It doesn't have to be emptied very often (I've emptied it twice this summer).
4. It's easy to keep clean.
Minuses:
1. The light is annoyingly bright when you're trying to sleep, but I put a piece of tape over it and that solved the problem.
2. I initially thought it was a bit expensive. However, given how well it works, it's worth the price.
Customer Review: Best little dehumidifier ever! Summary: 5 Stars
The Eva-Dry Dehumidifier is a marvel for it's small size! I have waited quite a while to review this item to make sure it worked and did the job. We purchased this dehumidifier after trying many different products to keep the moisture out of our camper van. We live on the Oregon Coast and everything here is subjected to high humidity which is very damaging.
This little machine sits in our van working 24 hours a day and takes out an amazing amount of water from the air in the van every day. If it gets full it turns off automatically so there is no danger of overflowing. Since buying it, we have had no problems with moisture ruining anything or mold forming anywhere in our van. I highly recommend this dehumidifier for anyone who has searched and tried other products only for them not to live up to the job.
