I bought this for my teenage daughter. My niece recommended it for her. At first I thought it was way too expensive, but after buying two other cheaper flat irons that didn't work well for her, I am convinced I should have just bought this in the beginning. I have curly, wild "mixed girl" hair -- I love it, but sometimes I want the sleek look. I got tired of crappy, cheap straighteners and splurged on a CHI. This product is AMAZING! It makes my hair straight, soft and shiny in 20 minutes or less (and I have lots of hair.) I only have to use it once every time I wash, and it stays straight all week - this is in subtropical New Orleans where the humidity is insane year-round. BUY IT. I own two and will most likely purchase a third (so that me and my daughters can have our own). My (...) daughter has a Chi high-lighted at the top of her birthday list for this year. It's so light and easy to use, she can straighten her hair herself. What we all like, beside being easy to use, is that our hair stays straightened even the next day, which wasn't the case with our cheaper drug-store model.
