Throw away your other flat irons. 5 minutes out of the box I could tell that $50 Revlon "ceramic" iron was worth nothing. My hair was straight with one pass, and smooth, and not frizzy looking like the Revlon left it. This is a great flat iron. Customer Review: There's only on or off and the iron does get pretty hot.

I actually purchased this product to curl hair for a high school formal. I had previously purchased another iron but returned it after it yanked out most of my hair.
The Chi worked so well and actually curled better than your average curling iron. The hairdo's stayed longer & worked on hair that is usually hard to curl. I'm sure it is excellent at straightening as well, but since I have stick-straight hair I haven't really used it for that purpose. I'd highly recommend this product for both purposes!
I would say that the only downside to this product is that there's no heat control. There's only on or off and the iron does get pretty hot. Otherwise a good investment for anyone.

My hair is nice a straight and shiny, and stays that way until I get it wet. I purchased this item because I wanted to cut the time down that I spend on my hair. I was very excited to receive it and washed and dried my hair that day. Well the first thing I noticed was there is no temperature control as it states in the description. Second, my old conair one(which works amazingly well for only $20), heated up in about a minute. I was expecting this one to be faster so I started on my hair in about half a minute and needless to say it did nothing to my hair. My hair wasn't even hot. So I packed it up to send back when I decided to try again. I gave it plenty of time to warm up so I can't say how long it took(I just left it in the bathroom until I was done with the dishes). So it was really hot and I touched up my hair with it. I can't honestly say it's any better than my conair. I don't know how hot it gets but my conair goes up to 250 degrees and I have to go over my hair at least twice with it. This one's about the same. I'm done with trying expensive straight irons.My conair does the same job as this one. If it's not broke don't fix it!! Customer Review: I woul definitely reccommend buying this product.

I have wanted to purchase a chi for years, but I never seemed to have an extra $100 to spend. However, when I think about it... I've spent about that much on other hair straighteners alone. This straightener is AWESOME.. I have thick, naturally wavy hair, & this straightener works wonders. I can make my hair stick straight, & it heats up really easily as well. I woul definitely reccommend buying this product.
