I bought this product about 2 years ago, and it worked just as promised. I'd been using ovulation pee tests, but my fertility doc said that these tests generally haven't been tested for women over 35 (which I was), so that explained why they weren't very effective for me. However, the Fertile Focus microscope showed ferning even when the pee test was so faint as to be unclear. I tried licking the image surface, but that didn't produce enough saliva to show any ferning; I ended up taking a drop of saliva out of my mouth and dropping it on the glass surface (not letting my finger touch the glass); I'd then let it dry completely for 30 min or so (going about my morning routine in the meantime) before reading. Although the ferning may appear more than just the day you ovulate, you're fertile the days surrounding ovulation as well, since sperm can live for several days while on its journey. So the fact that I saw ferning more than 2 days/mo wasn't a concern for me. I had no scratches despite daily rinsing and then gently dabbing with a towel. I had no difficulty using this product, and I think it's definitely worth the money, especially for women over age 35 who may find the pee tests to be difficult to use or interpret.Customer Review: Best ovulation Detection!

This microscope is truly a miracle!!! I am not paid by Fetile Focus to give this review. I just simply bought it and it did exactly what it said. I did not become pregnant yet, but I definitely saw a ferning pattern for 1 day and day 2 had a transitional pattern which means ovulation just happened. Don't pay attention to the bad reviews when ordering this product. The lens on my microscope is a little scratched, but I dont mind it. EVEN IF YOU LENS IS SCRATCHED YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE RESULTS. I clean my lens with just water and i use my finger to wipe it...then I shake it to get most of the water off and I insert it back into the tube. I dont even wait to dry it. It works PERFECTLY. It is definitely worth the money and predicting ovulation...However if you do not get pregnant that doesn't mean it's the microscope's fault...sometimes the egg doesn't get fertilized, maybe some women may have Luteal Phase defects where you detect a surge (ferning pattern) and DO NOT ovulate, or hormone levels are not working properly (not enough/too much estrogen or progesterone). I bought this four years ago after unsuccessfully trying to conceive for 11 months. I have very long cycles and we were having no luck figuring out my fertile days. Within two months of use I was pregnant with my first child. Being able to pinpoint the date exactly made all the difference for us - it was also extremely helpful during my OB visits because I knew precisely when I ovulated and was able to correct the due date the OB gave me, which was two weeks off based on the "date of last MP" method.
This thing does exactly what it says and couldn't be easier to use. That being said, every woman has different hormone levels. When trying to conceive our second child, I was breastfeeding, and rarely got a strong ferning pattern with the microscope. This led me to believe I was not ovulating at all, when in fact I was - proven by the conception of boy #2 after four months of attempts. So, if the device doesn't seem to be working for you, don't despair - but you might talk to your doctor about checking your hormones.

I ordered the Fertile Focus Ovulation Microscope on Oct. 19, 2010. I received the microscope a week later and started using it ASAP. I thought I had already ovulated for the month but I wanted to experiment with it so I could get use to how it works. Well, here I am, almost 2 months later and 5 weeks pregnant! This little microscope made my dream a reality. I've been trying to conceive for 2 years and at age 30 I was afraid it may never happen. I plan on giving the microscope to my sister whose also been trying to conceive for 2 years as well. The one thing I would suggest is to use the microscope in the AM and PM. The instructions say to use it in the AM but since a woman's eggs live anywhere from 12-24 hours you may miss ovulation. I believe the day I conceived was the day I used the microscope both in the AM and PM. I had NO ferning in the AM but on a hunch I checked again that night and sure enough, total ferning! I had sex that night and now there's a baby on board! I would recommend this product to anyone and everyone!Customer Review: Worked on the first try!

I purchased this microscope in April 2010, the month I decided to go off birth control pills. In May I practiced using it every morning when I woke up and got an idea of how long my cycle is and when I ovulate. In June my husband and I tried to get pregnant and were successful! I am in my 7th week now. This is a wonderful tool for people like me who have recently gone off of birth control pills and have no idea how long their real monthly cycle is. Based on calculations of people with "normal" cycles, I thought I would ovulate around week 3 of my 35 day cycle. With Fertile Focus, I realized I ovulate over a week earlier than I thought. My husband and I would have been WAY off track! The reason it takes most healthy people months to conceive is not a fertility issue but a timing issue! Take the guesswork out of ovulation by buying this microscope and save yourself months of stress. I hope this product helps you as much as it helped me!
