My son does not like these at all. In his case, they don't hold enough liquid when compared to the amount of protein powder the bottom can store. For me, they work fairly well for weight loss shakes. I do, however, have a tough time getting a good seal to prevent leakage.
I wouldn't exactly recommend NOT purchasing because they can do what they are supposed to; it just takes patience (and some expertise) to get a good seal.

Since the protein powder I was using was in an envelope, I found no use for the blue cup and left it at home, since once mixed the unit seemed unstable (top heavy). The powder would get between the blending ring and container and not mix. I tried using the ice tube, but it just added mess (do you put it in while blending and get the powder caked to it, or do you put it in after blending and have to open the thing up again). That was another problem, the lid was hard to open and close, it seemed to get "off track". I also found the powder would end up in the lid ring where it was to seal onto the cup. My advise -- get a Tupperware shaker, a small blue-ice pack, and an insulated bag. It might cost more, but in the long run, you'll like it better and not be drinking lumps of protein powder.Customer Review: Save your money for a better shaker cup!

These cups absolutely suck! Sorry to be so harsh, but they are the worst cups ever!
The first problem I noticed with the cups is that it is virtually impossible to read the measurements on the side of the cup. The measurements are small and have no color to make them stand out.
The second problem is that the lids do not seal tightly to the cup. It stands to reason that if a company is making a "shaker cup", they would make sure the silly thing doesn't leak! No matter how many times I tighten it, it still leaks with every protein shake I make.
The third problem is the ice wand. The listing in amazon.com states the ice wand will keep the drink cold for up to 6 hours. It's more like 2 hours. Maybe it keeps it cold for 6 hours in a colder climate, but here it's 2 hours tops and that's inside my lunchbox surrounded by rubbermaid ice packs. When I open the cup, the ice wand is already warm enough that the gel is practically liquid.
Thinking maybe the problem was just with the first cup, I opened the other two that I purchased. Each one of these cups leaks like a sieve. The cups also get cloudy in the dishwasher. The cups also don't blend my protein powder into the milk very well. A different brand of shaker cup works fine.
So the bottom line is: save your money for a better cup!

Purchased these to use for protein drinks on-the-go. The lids are almost impossible to screw off once they are tighten up. You have to use extreme force and hope it doesn't suddenly loosen and open up, spilling the contents on you and your surrounding area. After using these 3 to 4 times one bottle has cracked and is now worthless. The bottoms are useless. Why wouldn't you mix it initially. Even if you want to save the mixing until later, most of your powder ends up stuck on the bottom of the drinking portion. The ice plug is a nice idea but does next to nothing to keep the beverage chilled. If you are looking for a sturdy, non leaking, easy to use, drink container, I recommend the Blender Ball variety. I have purchased these from several sources and have not had a single problem with any of them. After using the Blender Ball cups for 3-4 months, they are are still leak free.Customer Review: Great Idea - Cheaply Made

This is a great idea, but has two major drawbacks. The ice wand does not pack enough punch to keep your drink chilled because the unit is not insulated. If you need to keep your lunch in the fridge, then what's the point of the ice wand? The WORST part of the shaker is how much it leaks. After cleaning a messy lunch tote twice, I had to resort to zipping the unit in a plastic bag to avoid the mess. Again I say, what's the point?
Would a simple rubber ring avoid this problem? We'll never know, as Fit & Fresh seems more interested in profit than making a product that truly delivers.
I bought both this and the Fit & Fresh Healthy Food Snacker, totally excited about these aids to healthy eating. These are cheaply made in China. I am returning them both.
