My 9-year-old Labrador has had ear infections since she was about three years old. Vet visits, antibiotics, ear cleaner, food change--nothing helped. Her ears were always red, swollen, and smelly. She constantly flapped her head as if she was trying to get something out of her ears--especially upon standing, which led me to believe she was also experiencing vertigo. Her joints were giving her trouble and she was doing very poorly health-wise.
I had given up hope that I could ever get her ears well until I read online about a systemic yeast infection. She had every symptom. Here is what I learned. Carbohydrates, grains, fillers, dyes, and sugar (in most commercial dog food) was supplying fuel for the yeast overgrowth. I put her on an all-meat/protein diet as recommended. Learning that her immune system was under attack and her digestion tract didn't have enough good bacteria to combat the yeast, I started her on canine probiotics. I started using K-9 Liquid Health Ear Solutions to treat her ears. In less than a week, her ears were no longer red or swollen and the smell had reduced quite a bit. I followed the treatment plan as recommended and after two weeks she had stopped flapping and scratching. After three weeks, the bloating in her abdomen was reduced and she was actually wanting to play with her toys again.
I believe this product, the probiotics (Vetri-Probiotic Everyday for Dogs (60 Soft Chews)), and diet change saved my dog's life. I will never run out of this ear solution or go back to what we were doing before.

For Animals K9 Ear Solutions K-9 Ear Solutions is a safe and effective aid in maintaining good ear hygiene. Deodorizes and cleans odors associated with ears; is designed for use after bathing or swimming. K-9 Ear Solutions soothes ears. Ingredients: Isopropyl Alcohol, Boric Acid, Gentian Violet, Colloidal Silver. Indications: Specially formulated solution to clean, dry, and deodorize the ear canal. Directions For Use: Shake Well. Hold ear open. Pour solution into ear and fill canal. Put cotton ball into ear to absorb excess solution and prevent staining. Massage ear, then remove cotton ball. Repeat for other ear. If necessary, liquid can be applied directly to the cotton ball or cloth, then rubbed in ear. For severe problems, apply twice daily for 2 weeks, then once daily for one week. Always apply after swimming. For maitenance of healthy ears, use weekely. Other Uses: Apply with cotton ball to toes and nails beds where excessive licking is a problem. May also be applied to hot spots and minor skin eruptions. CAUTION: KEEP AWAY FROM CHILDREN, KEEP OUT FOR EYES. WILL STAIN HAIR, CARPET, WALLS, AND CLOTHING.Nutritional Supplements
