Description of Frieda's Fresh Chilaca Pasilla Chiles (3 Lbs)
Also known as the Pasilla chile when dried, the Chilaca is popular in regions surrounding Mexico City where it is called the cuernillos, or "big horns" because of it's elongated and twisted shape. It's glossy emerald green color darkens to a rich dark brown when mature and has a deep, smoky, mildly hot flavor with anise, raisin and berry overtones.
