Customer Review: Absolutely excellent.

The key word here is, "stabilizer." I say that because it is not a splint, allows supported thumb movement, and enables the thumb to work as it is designed. Having recently come down with a painful and annoying "trigger thumb," I'd tried a splint only to find that the thumb was stiff and even more painful when I removed it.
This device does not use a rigid splint. Instead, it consists of extremely high quality, very comfortable, and well-assembled materials that include two thin metal bands. The bands support the thumb on the sides, allowing almost complete, but supported, flexibility. Either or both bands can be removed, varying the degree of support. With the bands removed, the devices becomes a glove that retains body heat and helps considerably to relieve pain and stiffness in cold weather.
I don't wear this thing continuously, but only when I need to do something that requires a thumb and don't feel like putting up with the trigger effect and its consequent jolt of pain. Afterward, my thumb is not stiff and actually feels better. My doctor thinks the thumb should be exercised, not bound in a splint. Unfortunately, this thumb is not attached to him, but I believe him, and I think this is a reasonable compromise, particularly since it's improving. He assures me I will be cured. Still, I will keep these thumb supporters handy.
