Customer Review: I didn't believe it would work, but it did.

When I bought this item I didn't believe it would work but I had to try it. I have been suffering with Plantar Fascitis for the last year. In my right foot for 8 months and then my left foot for the past 6 months. So tired of it. I bought new special insoles, new supportive shoes,did stretching exercises, taping my foot, ice on my foot, took pills, stopped walking and took up biking instead, but still had pain. Someone I know told me to try a boot at night. I thought not much to lose. First few nights it was hard to get use to sleeping with it. Had to play with the adjustments to get it right, not too tight (so your foot falls to sleep) and not to lose (so it falls off). After the fourth night, no pain in the morning and my foot felt rested most of the day. I would put it on if I was going to sit or lay down for awhile. It's been two weeks and 95% of the pain is gone. I still wear it at night, just to make sure. I am now do things I haven't been able to do in a long time, mowing the lawn and taking long walks. I love it. I think it was just the last little thing that made the differences. I still think you need to do a lot of the other things that I did also but this is worth the money.Customer Review: finally pain free

I have been unable to walk every morning for months because of the terrible pain in my heel when I walked. Bought this night brace ( it was the cheapest on Amazon) and decided to give it a try. I am a shoe size 8 female and the brace was very easy to attach. It has adjustable strap around your instep and an adjustable strap around the calf. The strap around the calf has 2 different velcro taps to help with adjustment (one on the left and one on the right). I had no problem with the boot staying in place. The boot is NOT designed to stretch the fasciitis, it is designed to hold the foot in a 90 -85 degree angle. At night when you relax your foot during sleep the toes relax and your foot spends 8 hours in a 45 degree angle during which the fasciitis tendon pulls tight.Thus when you wake in the morning it is very painful to walk until you restretch the tendon. This morning when I got out of bed after wearing the brace only ONE night. I could have danced. My foot was pain free. I have been doing the recommended stretchine exercises as well and I finally believe that I will evetually fully recover from this painful experience. I HIGHLY recommend this product.

this product saved me over $130 and did exactly what the dr. reccomended product did if not better! It is comfortable to wear at night (unlike the big boot the dr wants you to pay $150 for ). I felt instant relief of my plantar fasciitis within a few days. It's only been about a month since I began using it and I no longer really need it. I use it once in a while just as a precaution. Prior to using this product I was in pain for almost a year. Therapy wasn't working. The only relief I got was from the dr's cortisone shots which was only temporary at best. Plus you can't get too many of those without suffering permanent damage. I was a second away from getting the surgery (which would have only killed the nerve to stop the excruciating pain). Now I am much better thanxs to this product. I also bought something called an air cast which was also helpful. You can search amazon.com for it but I paid about $56 for it. My last piece of advice for dealing with our flat feet problem is to fork over the money to your dr to have the orthotics made. I havn't done that yet (it's like $700) but that's my next move.Customer Review: Wish I'd done it sooner!

After reading Amazon customer reviews in August of 2009, I purchased this foot brace. I was a little dubious about its benefits, but wore it faithfully. As for the Velcro closure... It did snag on the blankets, it did slip off of my toes during the night, and it did have less holding power than I'd have wished. But, I took that all in stride and after 12 weeks, almost to the day, I realized that I didn't have to get up gingerly at night for fear of a charlie horse in my plantar fascia muscle. I am so glad that I bought it. The original recommendation that said it might take up to 12 weeks, was right on target. I only missed 2 or 3 nights during that period, and always performed foot stretching exercises against the wall to aid my foot's healing, as well as wearing proper shoes with soft orthotic insoles (from ArchCrafters). I've tried inserts ($5 cheap ones up to almost custom $60 ones) and they help during the day, but every morning I wake up and can barely walk.
After 1 night, I knew something would be different. One foot (with the splint) was lose in the morning vs the other foot (without) being tight with pain as I stepped out of bed.
These work but a little advice.
Don't put them on too tight the first night. Goal is to not allow foot to stay close to standing angle vs high heal (not that I wear high heals).
I started with them on tight and found that the calf tightness was keeping me awake. I may adjust it tighter as time goes by.
I'm a stomach sleeper which doesn't allow the ankle flex at night (does the opposite) and is one of the key causes of my planters. If you are a stomach sleeper and have planters, try one of these out!
