We bought these dimmable CFLs since using regular CFLs with a dimmer switch shortens the bulb life. The GE Energy Smart dimmable CFLs solve that problem. However, at their dimmest setting they're still fairly bright.Customer Review: Did not work with the dimmer.

I am not sure if I am to blame the bulb or the dimmer, but the bulb did not work with the dimmer at all. It worked in a regular light but with a dimmer it would simply never turn on.Customer Review: Doesn't do what is supposed to do

I used newest and most expensive dimmer but this bulb doesn't work. Intensity goes from 100% right down to 30% and then it turns off. While at 30% output it produces buzzing noise which can be noticed from few yards away. I am surprised GE produced such a horrible product.
