Customer Review: Excellent formula!

At two months of age, my son was diagnosed with acid reflux. The pediatrician put him on Similac Sensitive R.S. (with added rice starch) in lieu of medication. Initially, this worked and he was no longer vomiting 1-2 times per day. About a week later, he developed terrible gas that he couldn't pass and needed to take Mylicon drops after every feeding. I spoke with the doctor and ended up switching him back to Similac Soy and he was prescribed Zantac. The Similac Soy was better for him in terms of the gas but he continued to be very fussy and spit up a lot. A coworker told me that her son had some of the same problems when he was a baby and suggested that I try Nestle Good Start. At first, I was a little apprehensive because I thought that Nestle primarily made chocolate bars, not formula! I went to their website and read up on the Good Start formula with the natural cultures. I was impressed with the research that they had done to create such a wonderful product. In addition, I contacted their customer service line and spoke to a Registered Dietician from Nestle. She was very knowledgeable and gave me a "mini' lesson on milk proteins and how their formula is different from others. Shortly thereafter, I started my son on the green can of Good Start. It took him a few days to adjust to the taste but after that, he was hooked! His gas and bloating went away, his BMs became softer and more regular, and he rarely spit up. With the Similac, he would have a BM every other day and they were very hard and painful for him. The Good Start helped to resolve this issue as well and he now has 2 BMs every day. I am very pleased with this product and I am so glad that it was recommended to me. Unfortunately, Good Start is not one of the more popular formulas (i.e. Similac and Enfamil) so most pediatricians do not have a lot of information about Nestle's line of products for babies. If you have any questions, you can call and talk to one of the dieticians and he/she will explain everything. If you are dissatisfied with this product for any reason, Nestle will refund your money for the first can of formula that you purchase. Don't be afraid to try this formula if the others are not working for your baby! I did and I am so glad that we made a change because he is so much happier since we did so!
