Unlike other ointments and creams, Staphaseptic is not very greasey or sticky. It is a more of a gel form and goes on the wound very easy and dries within a few minutes. I really feel that it helps wounds heal faster. I recently used this on a bad case of acne on my chin and it cleared it up quickly. I've also used this on animal bites (remember...ask your DR first if using this). Normally we are taught not to put any creams on an animal bite to allow the wound to breath and drain. Since this dries quickly, I've found a thin layer very effective in keeping the wound germ free yet still keeping the wound dry, open and clean. The added lidocaine is a definite plus as it helps with the sting from minor insect bites, some animal animal bites, and most of my acne pains.
