I have been faithfully using this nasal irrigation system since December 2008 and it has been nothing but helpful for me. When I feel the force is not right with me and it is due to sinus issues, I whip out my trusty little machine and mix my own saline. Alas, the trick to taking care of this machine is religiously flushing the salt water out of the lines EVERY time you use it. If you do not flush after each use, you will ruin your machine. Corrosion will set in and sooner or later it will stop working.
This is by far more superior than just using a neti pot. This thing powers through your sinus cavity and pushes out any mucus that is in it. You will be amazed when you see what is causing your nose to be stuffed up! It also cuts down on my visits to the doctor for sinus related treatment. If I am getting a sinus infection, I just hammer at my sinuses every couple of hours with saline. If you keep pushing the infection out, it can not flourish.
Anyway, I love the thing and if mine decides to go to nasal irrigation heaven, I am buying another one. It is not a cheap machine and I feel it is well made. Of course, it is the only one I have used and can not compare it to anything else.
Your first experience with it might be a bit uncomfortable because you actually have a compressor pushing, with force, into your nasal cavity. I assure you this feeling is something you will get used to and actually come to enjoy. You are in control of the force that is used. If you have constant sinus issues, like myself, I highly recommend this nasal irrigation system.

I was super skeptical about this purchase at first. It's pretty expensive for something I've never heard of, never seen advertised, and don't know anyone who has. My allergist even warned me against it, in case the strength of the water was too strong.
Well I bought it regardless and I don't regret it. I have horrible grass allergies and I work in a metal shop with lots of outside access... so I go home with a lot of pollen and dirt all over. I use this at least once daily, after work. Sometimes I'll use it in the morning, but not often.
I find that it's very easy to use, and once you figure out the strength of the pump and temperature of the water, it's not uncomfortable at all. The first time I did it I heated the water way too hot... so make sure you're careful.
I use a mix of fine salt and baking soda with luke warm water, and make sure it's dissolved. The instructions tell you a few different things you can use.
I can tell a huge difference with my sinuses, as I no longer go to bed with all of the allergens in my nasal cavities. I wake up feeling much fresher, and I've had a lot less sinus headaches as a result.
There are tons of warnings in the instructions on maintaining your product by cleaning it and priming the pump. Please pay attention to the instructions on how to clean it especially, as it's incredibly easy and only takes an extra minute.
I highly recommend taking the risk and trying this product.

I don't know if this is any better than the other pulse irrigators on the market, though it's much better than a neti pot. I can't say how long it will continue to work--I've only had it a couple months. I wasn't at all sure that this would live up to the company's claims. So far it does, and I am VERY pleased. I have one sinus that for years has frequently gotten stopped up, leading to discomfort. Dry winter air often makes breathing difficult at night, leading to poor sleep quality. I've been using the Hydro Pulse for a couple months now, and I LOVE it. I use it morning and evening, and honestly, it's a high point of the day. It feels so good, so relaxing, so pleasant! It also opens up my stopped up sinus and cleans it out and pretty much solves the dry air problem. It generally lets me get by without any medications. I hope mine lasts a long time, because if it breaks, I'll definitely get another one. The throat sprayer is also great if one's throat feels like a cold might be coming on. I think it can restore the Ph value in the throat, which lets the throat fight off infection. I concur with those who say to not buy the packaged salt envelopes. I keep salt and a measuring teaspoon in the medicine cupboard. Cheap fun! I've been using a squeeze bottle irrigation system and found it to be clumsy. Although it did do the job, I was seeking (by order of my doctor) to find an electric method of irrigation. I read many of the reviews on the Grossan and figured I'd give it a try.
I got it yesterday and immediately used it...I have to say it worked splendidly. On the medium / low setting ˝ the container per side lasted a good long time of irrigation, so it wasn't over in 5 seconds like the squeeze type. Each nostril got a solid 15-25 seconds of irrigation and it was comfortable and painless. Nothing down the throat.
Of course, I only used it once so we'll see if it lasts. I only use filtered water and heat the water for 30 second in the microwave. Having to fill the bottle, dissolve the salt run the irrigation...then refill with filtered and run that through the machine to clean it is a bit much of an operation, but again, if it does the the job well, I'm happy to oblige.
I'm disappointed that you only get 5 packets of the saline solution (squeeze bottle gives you 50) however you can use plain table salt.
I will update this review if anything changes, but so far I look forward to having this great product help out my sinus condition.

My sinuses were completely blocked.
Sinus infections 2-3 times a year and were getting worse.
Started sinus irrigation with spray bottle with salt and baking soda and warm water 2X a day morning and night. Started getting relief after 10 days. Do not be surprised by the discharge from your nose.
In Aug 2007, bought the Grossan Hydro Pulse Pulsatine Nasal & Sinus Irrigation System $97. (Amazon.com) The advantage able to pump 16 oz of solution (warm water, salt and baking soda) in 2-3 minutes. 2X a day morning and night. I use Morton Salt (without Iodine) 51 cents and Arm & Hammer Pure Baking Soda 57 cents. At Wal-Mart.
February 2008 sinus problems were "CURED"
March 2010 Still use Hydro Pulse 2X a day morning and night. Money well spent!
