Customer Reviews of Grossan Hydro PulseŽ Pulsatile Nasal & Sinus Irrigation SystemCustomer Review: Repetitive Motor Failures Summary: 1 Stars
I have now had 2 of these nasal irrigators and both have terminally failed. The first one was used for about 3 months and was then stored for 5 months before needing it again. The motor would not turn on so I contacted Grossan and they replaced it under warranty, though getting that to pass took 3 months. The second unit was used for 2 months and then stored for about 6 months. When attempting to use it after storage the motor was again frozen. Both units had been thoroughly rinsed and flushed before their periods on nonuse. In that I'm mechanically inclined I taken both units apart to diagnose the problem. The internal motor drives a small variable stroke pump which can be easily disconnected from the drive motor. The pump can be removed from the motor and the motor can then be tested without the pump loading it. Checked the electrical connections and the switch action and all was fine. In both cases the motor had simply frozen up! It would seem that the grease in the motor bushings hardens during storage.
When these units work they are fine, but with a failure rate of 2 for 2, I couldn't recommend these to anyone.
Customer Review: Works, but is the cheapest, worst made piece of junk I have ever owned. Summary: 1 Stars
This thing works great. It clears out the stuff in your sinuses and has been the only thing that brings me relief from sinus congestion.
That being said, it is, without a doubt, the cheapest piece of junk I have ever owned. And I've owned FOUR of these puppies. I've never had one last more than a year, and yes I follow all the instructions, using distilled water and flushing the system out after use. At $100 a pop, that gets expensive.
They inevitably start leaking all over the place, and once that happens, the motor burn-out will occur shortly after. I never would have bought more than 2 if I wasn't so desparate for it.
There appear to be other nasal irrigators on the market now. I have not tried them, but after throwing $400 at the Grossan over the last 4 years, I am going to try something different.
So to sum it, it works well, but is almost guaranteed to fail on you with any kind of regular use. Be prepared.
Customer Review: Junk, junk, junk buy a waterpik... Summary: 1 Stars
I had sinus surgery 10 years ago and bought the waterpick and sinus irrigation head. It worked great. Ten years later, I'm in the same situation and decided to buy this product instead of the sinus surgery....IT is totally junk.....I can't even believe it's being sold on Amazon or even any other legitimate place. It's made of cheap plastic ande the second time I tried to use it, it failed......JUNK.....I'm going back to the waterpik.....I read the reviews here on Amazon and thought I knew better...I was wrong...Do not buy.....it is totally useless junk and a waste of money!!!
Customer Review: Works great, poorly made Summary: 1 Stars
This is my second Grossan. I love it for what it does, and it works great,....when it works. Like a previous reviewer said, mine started leaking, and now the motor barely works. This happened with the one before, as well. It's a shame because it's a great product in theory. Hopefully they will work out the kinks. I won't be purchasing another one. I refuse to give any more money to a company putting out machinery of such poor quality. And I think they know this is an issue, hence the one year warranty.
