Customer Review: Good with a quirk

I surveyed the bathroom scales, aiming for something legible and with excellent ratings on various web sites, with price no object as I strove to fulfill one of my New Year's weight resolutions.
So far it is close to ideal. Large, bright numbers. The battery was included and easy to pop in. It is not the ugliest scale in the world. The numbers appear quickly, and are stable.
I expect soon it will be stolen by other members of my family, and I'll have to get another one for myself.
Now, after using the scale for several days, I see it has a strange quirk. Once it pronounces my weight, it sticks with that same number (to the limit of resolution, a tenth of a pound) for about a minute or more, even if I get off the scale and pick up a half pound object, or take off some clothes and remount the scale. If my weight changes by more than about a pound or two, then the scale immediately gives a difference weight.
Still, the legibility, the odd name, and the authority with which the Health-O-Meter pronounces a weight and sticks to it makes it a favored member of my household.
6-23-2010 - Bit the dust this month. Maybe we got it wet, but a new battery wouldn't revive it, and we replaced it.
