It's very important to use water that's not too cold or hot! Room temperature is fine, unless you live in the arctic. It's also important to use a good, pure salt, anything on which the only listed ingredient is "salt". When you have the water temperature and salt mixture right, using this neti pot doesn't hurt or feel uncomfortable at all. It's the same feeling you get when you've been swimming in the ocean for a bit.
I was amazed at the junk that came out me the first time I used this. I always get a dry, scratchy feeling behind my nose which I can't seem to do anything about. It soon spreads to my throat and then lungs as I become horribly sick for a week or two. This hasn't happened since I started using a neti pot. When I get that dry feeling behind my nose, I just clean it out and I feel fine.

I've had allergy problems and allergy attacks almost every spring and summer for the past several years. I've gone through Nasonex, Rhinaris, Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec, other prescription sprays. You name it, I've tried it. My girlfriend recommended that I get a Neti Pot and since that day, my sinuses have been much much happier. I used it daily when I had a sinus infection and it cleared up within 5 days, and was gone after about 10 days. I still use it to control my allergies and it works wonders. Who knew salt water would be the solution to such a problem?
Just make sure to follow the instructions carefully; most importantly, do not pinch down on your nose to flush out the excess mucous. That will make things much much worse.
Overall, I'm extremely happy with my Neti Pot.

I used the NP twice and shortly thereafter experienced a full inhale and exhale through both nostrils. This doesn't occur unless I use a nasal spray (which I avoid doing too often). I caught a bad head cold a few days later so discontinued. I intend to start back soon.
There was a little discomfort (burning) with the first use, but probably is attributed to inexperience. Also, the first salt I tried was Redmond RealSalt (all natural see salt) but it had traces of several minerals including iodine so I purchased Grand Saline Natural Salt. The ingredients are "Salt" and it does not supply iodide.
I look forward to trying it again on a daily basis.

So I, like many others if you read all the neti pot reviews, have jumped on the Oprah/Dr.Oz bandwagon, and decided to get one of these things! I tried to get one for 2 months elsewhere, but couldn't...finally checked Amazon. I originally ordered from a different seller (read my review here: NasaFlo Neti Pot Nonbreakable - The Best Ever Designed Neti Pot for Allergies & Sinus Symptoms, 1 neti pot + 50 salt premixed packets, (NeilMed) ) This one is MUCH better, and Neti Pots in general deserve all of the hype they've been getting...I can see with future uses, this will really be the best thing ever to get me through allergy season!Customer Review: Snot Pot Will Drain Lot

This is ideal for clearing blocked nasal passages. Just fill this little pot with water and 1/4 teaspoon of non-iodized salt. Tilt your head to one side while the spout is inserted in one nostril. You will be amazed at how freely the nasal blockage flows!
Repeat the process on the other side. Do this at least twice a day and you will start to feel the difference! I first became aware of this ancient Himalayan health agent on May 22, 2007 when Dr. Oz introduced it on the Oprah! show. I went out and bought mine that same day and already it has made such a good difference for me. I highly recommend it!
