Customer Review: Great Hold, Great Wax!

I was a regular Clubman's user, and actually don't have any real complaints about Clubman - as such, I liken it to be a good "standard" by which to judge other waxes. This was the 2nd wax I tried, but I've also tried more before writing this review.
I like that this wax comes in a tin because it seems more gentlemanly and elegant, it's easier to meter out the amounts, and a much more convenient container. The smell doesn't remind ME of tobacco, but it does have a rather musky and robust scent that was a bit off for the first whiff or two, but after that my nostrils recognized it as being pleasant and pretty manly and cool. The hold is outstanding, and everything I was hoping for (If you like strong hold, also look into Firehouse and Father's - even so, this is my new favorite wax). You can wax it up tight and leave it, once the wax dries up, the shine remains and the hold is there all day; or you can brush it out for a more natural "What wax? I always look like this" look. Getting your mustache wet does not wash the wax out immediately - I don't even lose my twists on the end. I also got the chapstick tube of wax. It's very convenient for daily carry because you can keep it in your pocket for minor touchups throughout the day. I found that I don't use nearly as much of this as I was with Clubman's (especially for touchups), so the tube actually lasts a long time. It's true that this wax works best when warmed first, but body heat for 5-10 minutes is more than enough to get it pliable and workable - and the chapstick tubes are usually already warm from being in my pocket (and the Phoenix heat).
Overall, my satisfaction is very high - I have no expectations that aren't being met, and I find small details (like the scent, hold, the tin, etc) that make it very favorable to me. This wax has the hold I never got with Clubman, plus I think it smells better, holds better, and is dispensed better. This is an excellent way to move up from "consumer" mustache wax to "coinesseur" mustache wax.
