Just in case a piece of gear could ever approximate fingers, or deep tissue massage, and at the price, it was worth a try. This thing is just amazing.
I am a big person, 6' 4" at 260 pounds - and it just churns away without any struggle, grinding or whining, nothing to indicate it's having any trouble with my neck.
My wife and daughter can't use it. It doesn't "get" their necks.
But for me, it's a treasure and here's why.
You can set it to massage DOWN your neck, or UP your neck.
When you have it working UP your neck, you can turn if OFF right at the point where it's pulling up on your neck "just right" for a little traction - and the two "fingers" just hold your head there - - ahhhh relieving distraction of compressed cervical (neck) vertebrae.
Or you can just lay there and it will churn up or down your neck and you will not want to get up. So don't.
Finally, you should know that if you don't lay straight, and or if your neck isn't straight in it, (and this is only sort of funny) when it's churning UP your neck it bobbles your head side to side a little. So patience to get your head in there straight and it doesn't bobble your head.
VERY comfortable, very effective, strong on big necks, but NOT for little necks.

I got this as a wedding present from friends who knew how stressed out I was/am. I honestly thought it'd be terrible- I am just really dubious about such products.
I unpacked an inflatable soft head pillow, a strap to attach it onto a chair (my desk chair! The pictures showed a car seat but I share my car so I decided to mount it to my desk chair). I happily use at my desk and on the couch to massage my neck and back. It feels really good. I mostly sit upright with it and start from the top of my back, working down.
You can adjust how far apart the little rotating knobs are and what direction they go in. After a little tweaking anyone could get a good massage out of this. Really impressive, even though it's a little creepy to watch the "hands in a bag" do their work. I highly recommend this as a pampering tool, relaxation device, stress reducer, etc. It's not a professional massage, but not bad for an electronic device!
Humorously, the package said not to massage before bed because the massage can be stimulating and keep you up- no way, one massage from this thing and I am ready to have a nice nap :) Edit to this review- my mom stole mine she liked it so much.

For this price, you can't expect a lot but I received more utility from it than I thought I would.
First of all, I prefer intense, deep massage. In order to get close to this, the first thing I did was to dump the pillow so the little critter could reach up and grab my neck. The range of motion requires me to position it for the lower neck for a while and then the upper neck.
It also worked pretty good on my calves even though I kept having to reposition it or my leg to get full coverage.
After about 20-30 minutes of use (neck and legs) it starts squealing to let me know it needs a break. Actually I think it's probably overheating or something. Switch it off for a couple of hours and it's ready to go again.
When comparing the price vs performance, I have to give this a 5 star. If I ignored price, the star rating would probably drop.
Bottom line: I have no regrets on the purchase but doubt I'd buy another if this one ever fails.

I suffer from frequent neck pain which causes headaches. I bought this massager not really expecting much. But it seemed like it was worth a shot since it was so inexpensive. I'm not sure why people said it didn't work well for smaller necks. I'm a very small adult and I thought it worked fine. Also, when my sister injured her back I lent it to her and she loved it so much that she wants to buy one too.- In all fairness, my fiance' didn't like it very much but I'm taking a lot fewer aspirin because of it. It was well worth the price.Customer Review: Great product, excellent value for the money.

I bought this item for my wife, who has a pinched nerve in her back and visits the chiropractor on a regular basis. This item, in conjunction with a few other items that I bought at the same time, have become her new favorite items in the house. I've played around with it, and it's an extremely deep massage...be careful in your first use of it that you ease back into it, since if you're sitting it up against a hard surface and leaning back into it, you may wind up actually feeling a bit of pain instead of a soothing massage.
