Customer Review: Doesn't terrify you awake and the ceiling clock is a cool nightlight

I have been searching for the perfect nature sounds alarm clock and I believe this one is it. I do not like waking up to buzzers because they scare the heck out of me and cause my heart rate to race for half an hour. I don't like waking up to music because then I get "ear worms" for the rest of the day, unable to get that first song out of my head. Worst of all is waking up to annoying, idiotic morning radio shows! I disagree with those who don't like the nature sounds on this clock. They are much better than other nature clocks I've had. I was skeptical about the ceiling clock, but it's kind of cool. I use it as a nightlight to relax in bed before turning it off and going to sleep. (It gives off too much ambient light for me to leave on all night.) It gives a nice blue "moon glow" to the room that helps me relax. You can see the clock fairly well in the daytime if your room is not completely bathed in sunlight.
The only thing I would change on this clock is to have the volume start low and then gradually increase until you wake up.

HoMedics Sound Spa and Classic Clock Radio with Time Projection is all good and well and the functionality is wonderful, however I only use the LCD Clock and the Sound Spa and it has worked without fail for over 10 years, since it first came out on the Market and I picked mine up at Bed, Bath and Beyond. My only problem is I live in Tornado Alley (KS) and whenever we have a severe thunderstorm and lose power, I lose my clock and sound spa which causes me to 'wake up' immediately. I am hooked on the sound ! There is a way that you can put a 'back up' battery into the machine, thus never losing time or sound, but I can't seem to get the battery into the machine. Buy at least one of these, great gift, great for home and one for travel; if you live in condo or apartment it is great to have one in every room as the 'white noise' blocks out your neighbors annoying sounds. Really, get several, you will not be sorry.Customer Review: Great product

My wife and I have been looking for an alarm clock that does not sound horrible, has a nice and bright display and the time projection feature. This product has everything that we wanted! We now wake up to the beautiful sound of birds chirping or whatever else we chose from the available options and it is easy to see time at night just by looking up onto the ceiling. Love the large snooze button and the fall asleep to natural sounds feature. Also the fact that the alarm can be turned off with an obvious button right on top of the device is exactly what we wanted - no more searching for an uncomfortable switch somewhere in the back of the unit like it was with our previous alarm clock. The projection feature seemed a bit too bright at first but we got used to it in about two nights and now we even like it - it acts as a night light.
Overall it's a wonderful product at a great price.

I first encountered this little jewel during a vacation to a relative's home. He set up the clock as part of my "deluxe accomodations". I immediately fell in love with the projection feature. The soft blue lighting is most appealing. When I returned home, I bought one for my own bedroom. My two daughters thought it was so cool that it became a must have item on their Christmas lists. I just bought another for my older sister this Christmas. I haven't experienced any problems with the clock, radio, or projection mechanism. I have owned mine for three or four years and it is still going strong. The "nature sounds" are subject to personal preference. I don't use them but my daughters (11 and 14 years of age) both have used them and seem to like them. If something happened to the one I have... I'd buy another as fast as I could find one!Customer Review: A gentle wake up makes for a gentle morning.

I used to jump out of bed in a half panic as the clock radio shocked me awake. I am not a race car. I was NOT built to go from zero to 110 in 5 seconds. The HoMedics sound spa radio is wonderful. I wake up slower, sometimes it takes me about 4 minutes to totally hear the alarm. . . but I was able to compensate easily by setting the alarm 5 minutes earlier. I also love the feature that projects the time on the ceiling, so that I can look up without moving too much, which allows me to fall back to sleep more easily if I do wake up in the middle of the night. I have mine set for "Ocean" to wake up, but the "Rain" and "Water fall" settings work great for background sound to mask TV or Radio in the next room if I need to concentrate on something. I wish I'd bought this years ago!!!!
