If you're buying your own travel pillow so you don't have to use the hotel's nasty germy pillows, look elsewhere...
The main thing is that this is not a dense memory foam, so under the weight of an average head, this pillow mashes down to nothing which means no support - you're basically lying on the bed without a pillow. Side sleepers, like me, should beware of this product! Unless you want to be lying on your arm (which will cause your arm to be numb after a while, and can cause shoulder damage), you really don't want to even entertain the notion of buying this pillow. And I'm also not sure how they get 4.5 inches thick at it's thickest. I measured mine and it was 3/4 inches less than that for a total of 3.75 inches at it's thickest spot lying flat.
My toddler son will love this pillow so I've kept it. But this is certainly not for those of us who have neck problems, not for side sleepers and not for people who need a lot of head and neck support during the night.

I got this pillow as I was looking for a cheap small source of memory foam to make a very custom fitted neck pillow for in my car with intention that I was going to cut it up. When I opened it I was surprised to find it was made of two 1/2 inch layers of thin memory foam and full of fiber fill. Not a real memory foam pillow. It worked out OK for my purpose, but I felt cheated that it wasn't a real "memory foam" pillow and felt that the fact it had fiber fill should have been in the description.Customer Review: You won't sleep a wink...

This pillow looked like a good value, but it is tiny (much smaller than you'd think) and the stinky foam is not "memory foam" but rather who-knows-what Chinese foam. The off-gassing from this pillow is so strong that I would be fearful to sleep next to it for even a two-hour airline flight. The pillow comes with a case/bag that requires you to fold the pillow in half in order to store it (probably not good for keeping the pillow fluffy).
