I've suffered from lower back pain for quite a while. I always loved those massage chairs at sharper image but they are so ugly that I was never willing to put one of those eyesores in my house. This massage chair is a fair alternative. No product will ever really replace a real spa massage from human hands but this does pretty well as a substitute.
The problem is that these cushions are all one size fits all. People aren't all one size, therefore you have persons who have a different experience as far as how high or low the rollers will reach. For me, the shoulder pad on this cushion is way too high to even come close to my shoulders. Then I discovered that the shoulder adjust button moves the shoulder rollers down a good 6 inches. Then it gets me right between my shoulder blades, and I'm a shorty. Another reviewer who was 6'1 said the shoulder pad was too high. I wonder if he didn't try to adjust the rollers. I'm happy with this one. It works pretty good and everyone at my Christmas party tried it out and liked it.

I tried this out at Kohl's Department store and loved it so much. Even on the way home in the car I felt invigorated and knew I had to get one.
I saw all the reviews here and ordered one.
It is so relaxing it puts me to sleep.
I can see the problem some of the shorter people have with the neck roller things. I'm not tall but I don't put them all the way down. I do however sit all the way back and sit up straight. If I slouched, they would be too high for me.
(The neck roller balls have a button to adjust for them to go higher or lower.)
It's nice because for the back part, you can do the whole back or the lower back and you can do JUST the lower-lower back too. You can also do a 'rolling' massage on the whole back or lower back which isn't as intense as the shiatsu massage.
I love this so much I'm going to get the ankle/leg/calf shiatsu massager.
The only thing I DON'T like is that it shuts off automatically after 15 minutes.

I have now bought this for me and 3 others. This massage chair pays for itself in 2 days. Quite honestly, how do they produce a shiatsu massage with so much amazing power and so much like the real thing? The heating element is just right. It is not too hot but you can feel it. The options are perfect. You can do a lighter rolling massage or the deep tissue shiatsu and you can stop the massage in an area that really needs extra help and then go back to full back, upper back or lower back. The shoulder option is really for taller people and that needs to be addressed at some point by the manufacturer, but this chair is by far and away the best purchase I have made in a long time and I have a new Mac, Wii, Powershot and assorted goodies that do not come close to this in terms of letting the tension go and feeling de-stressed after 15 minutes to half an hour. I would not get this for my 90 year old dad, but if you are 20-70 and not in terrible shape, then go for it.Customer Review: This one worked for me

Just make sure you try the Massaging Cushions before you buy them.I tried out 2 at Kohls,one of them killed my back,and this one worked great.When I got up from the chair,I had so much more energy.
When you unpack the cushion,you have to take out 2 screws,with the wrench included to espose the electrical cord.Its no big job,and there's a strap with velcro to keep the cushion tight around your chair.
The one thing I like best about this Massaging cushion is you can work on your shoulders and back at the same time.It feels so great you don't want to stop.Just make sure if you spot massage with heat,don't use the heat for more than 3 mins.It tells you in the papers you get with the product.(while I'm adding more information to my review,I'm using this fantastic Massaging cushion that my Sister bought me for CHRISTmas.I've been using it for 3 days,3times a day,and my back feels so much better)

I hurt my back shoveling the snow and tried many different treatment with no results. I decided to order the Homedics Therapist Select Shiatsu One Massaging Cushion with Heat. I am so glad I did. The shiatsu massage is wonderful and heat also works great. The pressue is strong and I used a heavy towel until my back got used to the pressure. Now I don't need the towel. It takes a few uses to get used to getting it lined up to your personal back size, so you can hit your sore spots, but once you get it down it is smooth sailing from there on. If you have any back problems I recommend giving this a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. I am now pain free. Amazon has a great deal compared to anywhere else I searched for this item. This was also packed very nicely and shipped extrememly fast. I highly recommend!
