I got this 2 years ago for my newborn at the time. She was very restless her first month until we played the ocean for her and she would fall right to sleep within minutes. It also has taught her to self soothe by learning to listen to the calming sounds. Now that she is a 2 year old, wouldn't you know that it is still going strong, we have used it every single night for the last 2 years!!-- even when we travel, we bring it with! :) It's small enough that it packs light and ensures a good nights rest to all of us, now that Mom and Dad have gotten used to it too, thanks to the monitor!! The picture show on the ceiling is a great way to get her to calm down for the night and focus on the pictures while her eyes get tired and eventually close. It's a great little machine useful for all ages! Definitely worth the $$ - Highly Recommend!Customer Review: Love this item!!!!!!!!

I often don't take the time to write reviews but I love this item so much I wanted to let others know. Every night I play the projector and a song while I get my baby ready for bed, give him his bottle and then put him in his crib. It is so soothing that sometimes I start to drift off while the baby is having his bottle. If he is not quite asleep before I leave the room, I use the timer feature to have it shut off in 15 minutes (or you can choose 30 or 45 minutes). I have not had any trouble with my Soundspa machine. It has worked every night since I received the gift four months ago. I would buy another if it broke because my baby likes it so much. My 7 month old baby looks up a the ceiling as soon as we enter the nursery because he is looking for the projected image to start. I can hear the sound of the ocean in the background as I type this review and I'm not annoyed! We have used this sound machine for sleep training twice now. It is the right tool because it can be left on all night. That way every time my 10-month-old daughter wakes up at night, it's the same environment that she fell asleep in. There is a soft glow from the projector, and tonight she even waved to the images when she noticed them on the ceiling! I prefer the sounds of the ocean or rain setting, as they don't seem to sound too mechanical and are close to white noise without being a solid stream of fuzz. The blue slide seems to be the most calming light setting. It has a variety of timer choices, a good volume range, and a high or low light option. I've read the reviews that said the machine died after a few months. We've had ours for 3 months now and haven't had any issues with it.
We use the sound every night and often during the day. It is almost constantly on and running. The projector we use a few times a day for about 20 min at a time.
The disks can get a bit dirty which isn't a problem since the baby isn't going to be concerned about a crisp picture.
There is a snap type of thing that is somethings hard to close when you put the disk in.
On the whole, my baby loves this. It creates just enough white noise for him to be able to sleep even if his older brothers are having a sword fight outside his door :)
I think this is a must have for every parent.

My husband and I randomly came across this "noise maker" and it's been one of the best investments we've made with our now 6 month old. Our daughter (and us) find the music to be soothing and the projection on the ceiling gives her enough light to not be in the dark, while also focusing her attention on bright moving colors. Since we started using it to put her to sleep at 3 months, we don't leave the house for an overnite without it! It even soothes her in the middle of the night if she happens to wake up when we put it back on with the 15 min. timer. You can also move the projection to suit the ceiling or a nearby wall, as it is fluid in its movement. This is a must have in our house and we've purchased a 2nd to keep at our parents!
