Customer Reviews of Huggies Snug & Dry Diapers, Size 3 , 144-CountCustomer Review: Huggies vs Pampers Summary: 5 Stars
Ahh, the ultimate controversy. I feel like I've graduated from college to adult when the hot topic with my friends has changed from 'boxers vs briefs' to 'huggies vs pampers'.
We did stage our own version of the Pepsi Challenge, and purchased Huggies, Papers, Luvs and even some other random brand I found in our local grocery store. Huggies wins hands down. Luvs leaked all the time, and was even kind of scratchy. Pampers was nice and soft, but also leaked. For us, Huggies has never leaked. The elastic bands around the legs fit well, the diapers are soft enough to not bother my son. We've used Huggies from size NB up to 3 so far and have still preferred Huggies in each size range.
Within the Huggies line, I prefer the Ultra-trim (which I guess is being called something else now?) over the Huggies Supreme. The Supreme were extra padded and tended to bunch up. They didn't leak, but they just weren't as comfortable for my son's frenzied activity level.
As for fit, my son has always been small for his age (10th percentile in weight, 60th percentile in height), so I'm not sure if that makes any difference... maybe pampers works better for chunky kids? Which opens up another age old controversy "does size really matter"? But that's a conversation for another day.
Customer Review: They're good diapers Summary: 5 Stars
If your Huggies diaper is leaking, then you're not putting it on tight enough. After you put on the diaper, check the elastic that wraps around the legs. Put your finger between the elastic and the baby's leg, pulling on it to make sure it's taut. If it's not snug, then you didn't put it on tight enough. Unvelcro the strab, push the top layer down--hold it-- and then pull up the bottom velcro strap, strapping it to the top/front. Also make sure that the front of the diaper is not too high or too low; this is another common error. The newborns are particularly great--I love their liners. People talk about how some diapers shape babies better, but I've used all kinds and they all fit exactly the same. Huggies are also very cheap compared to Pampers. They're about the same price as the K-Mart brand if you shop at Costco or at Amazon when they have a special. And the K-Mart ones WILL leak through because they're thinner; you can feel the heat after a #1 or #2. With Huggies, your baby probably won't be crying due to a wet diaper (at least not after the first time they pee). 4 stars for quality, 5 stars for value-- 5 stars overall. You should at least try a cheaper diaper like Huggies because if it works for you, you'll be saving a lot of money.
Customer Review: Helps reduce amount of #2 blow outs Summary: 5 Stars
I used Pampers, which worked fine at the newborn stage. Then my baby's poops started coming out with some force and the Pampers diapers didn't keep it in (it would shoot out of his diaper, up his back. I know, gross!) I tried securing the velcro straps tighter, but then I felt like I was squeezing my baby's waist. I realized then that my baby needed a diaper with elastic around the waist to help trap his poops in, and allow some give so he's comfortable. Pampers doesn't have elastic across the waist, so I decided to try Huggies Baby-shaped w/the elastic band, and it has worked great! No more blow outs! (Well, not completely, but we have significantly less blow outs now with the Huggies diapers.) I have to say that I also tried Huggies Supreme, which also has the elastic waistband, but I didn't like it b/c the size ran very small and was a little bulky. (For example, Pampers and Huggies Baby-shaped size 3 fit my baby at 21 lbs, but the Huggies Supreme size 3 was too small.)
Customer Review: Pleasantly Surprised by Huggies-No Leaking Summary: 5 Stars
Let me start by saying that we are a Pampers family. My toddler has been in Pampers since she was born, so naturally, we put the new baby in Pampers as well. She did great in Swaddlers but when we moved her in the to the Cruisers, she started breaking out in horrible diaper rash and had red swelling anywhere the diaper touched.
I reluctantly decided to try Huggies and within 2 days the rash and swelling was completely gone.
Besides the fact that Huggies does not use the overpowering perfume that is found in the Pampers Cruisers, I have also been pleased with the diaper in terms of what it can hold.
We have had zero blowouts in the Huggies whereas we had a ton in the Pampers. Also, I don't change her diaper at night unless she poops (she's 6 months) and she still nurses 2-3 times a night, so in the morning she is full of pee and she doesn't leak at all.
I'm very impressed and I was a tough critic to begin with.
Customer Review: Huggies Diapers Summary: 5 Stars
This has been the best program. We send diapers once a month to my granddaughter. Easy for us and my daughter loves it never runs out of diapers. She was just telling me she would order through Amazon if we did not send them to her. The price is great but just having one last thing to worry about is even better. They automatically send her diapers once a month. I get the notice when they are sent and they bill my card. She has been telling new moms and her friends about this program. The diapers are Huggies and they are great diapers and when the size changes you just plug that in.
