Customer Review: a great walker but watch out for scratching your hardwood floors

I cannot say enough good things about the Hugo walker. It comes with so many extras at such a good price. Putting it together was simplicity itself. I also like the blue color and somehow don't feel as gimpy with the looks of this walker. The side pouches are wonderful and allow me to carry everything I need, including bottles of water and the like in the outside pouches. Ir folds easily and therefore is easy to transport.

I was glad that it came with both the tips and the wheels and slides. I didn't know whether I would want wheels or the solid tips and was glad I had the options. I definitely needed the wheels and used them from day one.

I recently underwent a total knee replacment and the policy of the hospital was to have the patient use a walker for the day of surgery and the next day and then advance to crutches. Being home alone during the day or up at night on my own, I much prefer the stability of the walker and am glad I ordered this in advance of my surgery.

The only negative, is that the glides scratched our hardwood floors terribly. I wasn't noticing a lot when I first came home for the hospital and my husband and son didn't notice the scratches when I asked if that was happening. (I think they were more concerned about how I was doing and didn't look very closely at the floors.) The next day I saw the scratches all over our hardwood floors and put tennis balls on the back legs and fixed future scrathing issues, but was too late to avoid the ones that occurred on day one. Still, I have to give this walker a 5 despite wishing I had been warned about the glides ruining hardwood floors. I recommend the walker, but please be aware that you need to take precautions to protect your floors from scratches.
