Customer Reviews of Hyland's Leg Cramps, 100 Tablets (Pack of 3)Customer Review: So Where's The Quinine? Summary: 1 Stars
I suffer from nocturnal leg cramps, and I tried "Hyland's Leg Cramps with Quinine" as a possible alternative to outrageously-priced prescription quinine. I can't say I wasn't forewarned -- after all the product does include the warning "homeopathic" (a synonym for "ineffective") on the label. Still, since "with Quinine" was also prominently featured, I was hopeful that the product might actually contain some. Well, I can taste the chalk, but that's about it. And even with taking ten tablets (2-3 are recommended), I don't notice substantial relief.
I suggest instead ordering quinine through a mail order Canadian pharmacy -- you'll need a prescription, but the prices are considerably cheaper than in the U.S. But first, you might want to try Co-Enzyme Q10 -- a non-prescription supplement, which supposedly treats the cause of the cramps. I have found a 400-600 mg. nightly dose promising. (That's well over the maximum recommended 200 mg. dose, but the stuff is supposedly non-toxic.)
Customer Review: Sent wrong item Summary: 1 Stars
Ordered "Restful Legs", received "Leg Cramps". Didn't notice the difference as the containers is almost identical, Of course you cannot return medications after they are opened. Thanks Amazon.
