Customer Review: My Insulin survived Mexico and 80+ F days

I am a Type I Diabetic for over 24 years. I was going on Vacation to Cancun Mexico and I was worried about baking my Insulin. A less than optimal option. I needed to keep two vials of Lantus and two pens of Humalog cool and functional each day. I am very glad I came across and ordered the "Insul Pak". I have to highly recommend this to any diabetic on the move in a warm country and wants to make sure the temperature of their Insulin is good.
So I brought two ice packs. The one that came with the Insul Pak (it is a a gel style pack in a soft textile case over plastic containing the gel to freeze) and another ice pack I had at home. I swapped them out about every 12 hours and not once did the temperature gauge on the outside of the bag good over 71 F. That was the highest temperature I got when I spent a long day at Chichen Itza when it was 86F.
The temperature gauge on the outside is so handy. Its nice to be able to check and make sure your insulin is still cool and get a general idea of its temp.
The size of the case is about the size of a NetBook case and about a palms width. There are two zippered entries. One has the area for the ice pack and the insulin. That has four stretchable loops. I was able to keep my blood glucose tester and needles and 4 extra round containers of "One Touch" strips in the other zipped area which has a webbed area with a zipper to contain items.
The only complaint I have is that the Temperature Monitor box did not fit correctly in the viewable window area. It always tilted up and was not perfectly square so I had to push on the plastic viewing window to see the temperature and/or turn on or off the temperature gauge.
But still it was nice to be able to keep all my stuff together in a small container and adjust the strap and I just looked like I was carrying a small laptop.
Nice product and thanks to it I had a nice vacation.
