I just took this Off! camping with us. We were immediately beseeched at the campsite by some flying insects. Luckily, we had Off!, which worked as advertised.
I like this spray, because unlike a lotion, I could spray it all over my clothing. It did not feel sticky, I didn't get sick from smelling it and it did not stain my clothing.
A 10% concentration of DEET would work just as well as a 30% solution. The difference is that the 30% DEET would last longer. So, if you are not going to be out long, use a lower concentration of DEET and just reapply if you find yourself out longer. I found that 15% in this Off! Active was sufficient for my needs on the camping trip. I did not have to reapply very often, since the insects mostly came out in the evenings.
Some other things worth noting:
* do not apply under clothing
* do not spray directly on face. Spray on hands and then apply hands to face.
* do not apply to children's hands (they will put them in their mouths)
* do not apply to cuts and wounds
* do not use on infants younger than 2 months old
* do not use a solution stronger than 30% on children
* change clothing and wash up after going inside
* use the lowest strength necessary for the duration that will be spent outside (especially for children)
* do not use the sunscreen/DEET combinations (sunscreen must be reapplied regularly, which may result in overuse of DEET). Use them separately.
