Customer Review: Good choice when NiMH won't do

The Juice rechargeables are a good choice when you need the higher voltage of an alkaline cell. The net voltage for four Juice batteries is 6 volts as opposed to only 4.8 volts for NiMH. I use
them in an older handheld GPS receiver that requires 4 cells and drains batteries in only a few hours of use. Thus the rechargeable alkalines offer a significant savings in cost and trash over single
use batteries. In addition the Juice alkalines have a low self discharge rate unlike NiMH.
The batteries can be recharged in my old Rayovac model PS1 universal AA charger.
The only problem I've found with the battery form factor is that the positive contact cap is shorter than the old Rayovac AA cells. As a result the batteries don't make contact in my Rayovac model
PS2 charger.
