Customer Review: Kinesio tape works great on my chest truncal lymphedema

Kinesio tape totally improved my chest / truncal lymphedema. I had a relatively minor case, but it was bothering me and I've been working very hard to get the swelling down. My breast was hard and swollen - I have tried MLD, herbal supplements, etc and nothing has gotten the swelling under control.
My chiropractor put kinesio tape on my breast and chest area and it is amazing how much better it feels. The swelling is way down and the hardness and thickness is much reduced. He is putting this on me once a week with two pieces - one from my breast up toward my collar bone and one piece from my breast across to my right side chest. If you are suffering from lymphedema and haven't tried kinesio tape, I would highly recommend it!
Some tips if you are not going to an expert to get this applied:
* The adhesive is heat-activated. So to get it to stick well, you need to rub the tape on the skin a bit. I can get it to stay on for a week.
* Cut the tape so that each piece has a solid area at one end and then four little strips on the other end where the lymphedema is.
* Place the solid end at the terminus point and then stretch each little piece down and across the area. Make sure to rub each strip so that it stays attached.

If you need a tape that you can wear for extended periods of time and comes off comfortably when you're done--this is the tape for you! In fact in the chiropractor's office it was nicknamed "the gorilla tape" because it didn't pull off all your body hair when removing it. Beige tape is what I saw utilized the most there.Kinesio Tex Tape - Water Resistant Beige, 2" x 5.5 yd. Single Roll for Kinesio Taping and I give the beige 4 stars--only because when it gets wet it tends to loosen and feel clammy. What I found works even better than beige is the black tape. The black tape stays on through showers and can be worn for a few days before retaping. Very comfortable to wear! I have a condition in my hand that gives me localized pain, its a form arthritis. I've found the patch type product Salonpas Salonpas-Pain Relieving Patch, 120 Patches does an excellent job of relief. However it won't stay on after your hands get a little sweaty. I first tried athletic tape and that works ok...but what I didn't like was that 1) its too stiff 2) it only comes in white. I like to camoflage the bandage.
Anyway this stuff does the trick. The beige color kind of blends in with your skin, and this stuff doesn't fall off when you are sweaty. It doesn't fall off until you take it off. It is great. I will be a lifelong customer.

Due to osteo arthritis, I've had cronic pain in the sacroiliac area for over 5 years. I refuse to take meds to control the pain, but even physical therapy didn't help. My therapist applied kensio tape to the area and I've been pain free since. Before applying this tape any movement, including sitting and laying down caused pain - with the tape, no pain at all. I have had to take sleep aids several times a week because the pain has kept me awake. Since applying this tape, I sleep soundly every evening. Because of this, I have a lot more energy during the day. This will be my first purchase of this tape. It does appear to be expensive, but when you consider the alternatives - it's worth every penny.Customer Review: Helped a lot for Runner's knee

I've had runner's knee for 5 years. Few months ago started with my third physical therapist. They applied kinesio tape and I've been using it every day for about 3 months. It greatly reduced pain, almost completely stopped the popping and grinding of my knee. It is so much better than the bulky braces and wraps cause it doesn't get hot, more comfortable and stretches to conform to movement. I would say it is not all the tape helping with the pain, I also do stretching and strenthening excercises. Most the excercises I was given I couldn't preform until I used the tape. I would recomend consulting a doctor to show how to apply the tape, and get stretching and strengthening excercises.
