Customer Reviews of Lansinoh 20265 Disposable Nursing Pads, 60-packCustomer Review: Best I've used, but I don't use the adhesive. Summary: 5 Stars
I really like these a lot better than the other ones I've tried. I like that they are really large and absorbent, and they don't stick to my nipple like the ones by Johnson & Johnson. They also don't show through my shirt at all.
I don't use the adhesive because it isn't strong enough to stay in place when I open my nursing bra and it has to get folded down under my breast with the outer material of the bra. It is easier for me to just take the pad out when I nurse and put it back in or replace it if necessary when I'm done. Besides, I never have any problem with it slipping out of place, day or night, anyway.
To me, the only thing that would make these better would be if they had a nonslip back like the Gerber NUK Ultra Thin Nursing Pads instead of adhesive. I know that I am one of the few people that doesn't like adhesive - most people wish that the Gerber NUK had it, while I wish that these didn't. I don't know why that is. It might be that mine don't slip out of place because my breasts are larger and/or my bra fits them more snug than most. I'm not sure, but I think the adhesive is more inconvenient and slipping out of place has never been an issue for me, especially with these pads because they are so large. I think it might just be that I have a really good bra which holds them perfectly in place, but is also incompatible with adhesive, because the outer cup material kind of gets tucked under my breast instead of just flapping open.
That said, I recommend Gilligan & O'Malley Womens Nursing Sleep Bra (Target), and its great for daytime use too. Its the only kind of nursing bra that I use and slippage of nursing pads is not an issue.
Customer Review: The best disposable nursing pad out there... Summary: 5 Stars
I've probably tested this pad to its limit. In terms of absorbency this is the best there is. I've used Medela, Avent, Gerber name it..they don't even compare. In terms of thickness, this is the thinnest you'll get and the best, inspite of being so thin. I think the only other pad out there which compares is Johnson's nursing pad (not available widely though). But this one has two major advantages compared to the Johnsons' pad, one it's way way thinner which is great and two it's much wider which means more coverage and less chances of leaks. The only complaint would be that the sticky tab is pretty useless but it's a small inconvenience compared to its many advantages. I have an overactive letdown and only this pad has stood up to that without a leak...non-disposable ones including Medela & Gerber didn't work at all with the letdown issue.
Another minor inconvenience is that it's not very smooth and can show up but really who would wear form-fitting clothes after just having gone through a pregnancy anyway!
If you're unsure initially, get this one for the first couple of weeks. It will be a lifesaver in those early weeks and after your milk supply stabilizes, you'll know if you can get the non-disposable ones which definitely work out cheaper if you're planning to nurse for a while.
Customer Review: A MUST HAVE for moms!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I initially sought these out due to the recommendation of my friend who is in the La Leche leage, and I have never been happier that I bought them! I purchased two 60 packs and still have yet to use one of the entire boxes - and I'm in the third week post C-section delivery. I recommend these to anyone I know who is breastfeeding, pregnant, or looking for an answer for milk leaks. I have yet to experience a leak, or embarrassment, and I wear these every day and night. Also worth mentioning - they do stay in place. I haven't worried about these moving around at all. The fastener included on the pad is enough to keep you safe from any possible worry of movement. You just need to make sure that you place the fastener on the top side of your bra instead of on the bottom (I tried both). You can't even feel them on after the first day of adjusting... but the only thing I will say as a con is that you should be weary of what bra you use with them. I am using an all cloth, no shape/padding/wire nursing bra and 5 - 10% of the time you can see the bunched sides of the circular pad under the shirt. I think if I had a bra with more shaping to it, the pads would never show through.
Definitely a must have for new moms or an excellent gift item for anyone's shower if they breast feed or not. :)
Customer Review: Hands Down Best Disposable Nursing Pad Summary: 5 Stars
As a nursing Mom have you ever walked around, in public, with wet circles on your shirt and not know it? I have, so embarassing! Infact, I was returning a different brand of nursing pad to Target. I complained to the clerk at the return desk, happened to be a young male, how terrible this item was and that I needed to return and purchase something else. His smirk should have clued me in. As I left the store feeling content about my shopping trip I felt a cool breeze on my chest. Kinda odd for a hot August day so I looked down to see two HUGE wet spots on my shirt!!!!! Nice, huh?!
Since that day, and my purchase was Lansinoh Nursing Pads, I have alway worn these. They are thin and can hold a good amount of milk, great for those who have constant let-downs like myself. They are not noticable under clothing like other bulkier pads. Very comfortable!
For special occasions try Lilypadz, silicone nursing pads. Check it out, they gently stick to your skin and are washable. They are perfect for that dress that you can't wear a bra and ideal for when you go swimming. No need for the baby's diaper and your boobs to swell up after a dip!
Customer Review: only disposable nursing pads worth getting Summary: 5 Stars
these were the first pads i got, and in the 9 weeks since having my wee one, i've gotten to try avent, johnson's, and gerber. so far, these are the only ones that haven't leaked and the only brand of disposables i plan to use from here on out (i'm waiting for my lilypadz, so i don't know how they compare to those yet). the downside of these pads is that they are moderately visible through form-fitting clothes (they're folded in half in the packaging and have "darts" coming in from each side so that a line is formed across the pad when it's worn... a line that is a little lumpy and especially visible early in the wearing but calms down a little as the breast pushes against it. once that happens, they're pretty much invisible... for the short while until it's time to change them again). also of note, the adhesive backing on these pads is great, so they don't shift around like some of the others.
Really, these should probably be 4 stars (some room for improvement, for sure), but for disposable breast pads, they're the best i've crossed.
