I used this the first month or two after having my baby pretty much every time after I nursed because I didn't want to crack! And I didn't crack! I also used it before showers to keep myself from drying out, because that first little bit you're sensitive and don't need to be dried out on top of everything. After that first month or two, I found I didn't need it anymore, but it was certainly worth the purchase! However, I do use it still for my and my baby's chapped lips occasionally, and it works well for that. It is thick, but once you rub it between your fingers, it's fine. Just gently apply--you can't slather it on like you would lotion. It doesn't smell bad and you don't have to wipe it off before you nurse again. I definitely recommend buying this before you have a baby so you're prepared.
