This candles are the best I have ever used. They burn evenly without too much smoke.
Customer Review: Don't Buy This Summary: 1 Stars
Ear Candles DO NOT remove wax from your ears. The wax you see is a combination of burned and melted wax from the candle. The suction created by an ear candle is incapable of clearing wax from your ears, which is a good thing, since such high pressure would likely cause significant damage to your inner ear. Furthermore, there is a small, but nevertheless present risk of wax from the ear candle dripping into your ear and causing further blockage or damage.
Don't believe me? Try this: Candle a friends ear like normal, observe wax byproducts. Now get a second candle and perform a candling in the same way on an empty (and clean!) beer bottle or similar shaped glass container. I guarantee you they will contain the same byproducts. I'd put ear candling in the same category as medical leeches. It's a holdover from a time when we understood little about physics and medicine. It SEEMS to make sense, in theory, but does not hold up to actual testing.
To clear wax buildup, use an ear cleaning syringe. Fill a quart size container with warm water (slightly warmer than room temperature, but not hot) and put a few drops of hydrogen peroxide in (be conservative, your ear is delicate and too much H2O2 will be overly harsh). Tilt your head slightly to the side of the ear you're cleaning and flush water into it until your ear feels clear. If your ear actually had wax buildup, you should be able to hear the difference instantly as sounds will be pronounced, sharp, and clear. I suggest doing this a MAXIMUM of once every two weeks, but every 6-12 months is probably a better idea. Your ear is supposed to have wax in it, and your ears wont be healthy if you clear it constantly. Furthermore, the hydrogen peroxide, while useful for melting wax buildup, will dry your ear if used excessively.
