• History:The Lemon tree originates in Asia, but about 50 varieties are widely cultivated today. Popular flavoring agent and perfume ingredient. Indispensable in the kitchen. For extraction the citrus fruits are carefully peeled and the oil extracted from the glands in the peel.
• Aroma:Light, fresh citrus scent. Because of its color, and its warm, cheerful energy some people call Lemon Essential Oil "the sunshine oil".
• Perfumery Note:Top. Blends well with: Citrus Essential Oils blend well with a lot of different oils, "lifting" a blend to make it appear more energetic and lively. Lavender, Neroli, Ylang Ylang, Rose, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Geranium, Fennel, Tea Tree, resinous Essential Oils and many others.
• Aromatherapy Properties:Refreshing & rejuvenating. Inspires and energizes. Clears the mind. Eases emotional confusion and increases ones sense of humor and well-being. In a Lemon oil study typing errors were reduced by over 50% when Lemon was diffused. Used in moderation it's an effective skin care ingredient.
• Citrus Essential Oils are among the few Essential Oils with a limited shelf life. Keep your citrus oils away from heat and direct sunlight and in tightly closed containers, ideally in the fridge. Try using them in 6 months after purchase. Older oils may not be appropriate for medicinal or skincare purposes, but can still add citrus-power to a diffuser blend.
