Customer Review: Works for me at 17 weeks

I just got this in the mail. I pulled it out, attached the tubing, and found baby's heartbeat on the first try. I was lucky--I tried again a bit later and couldn't find it. Either baby had moved or I needed to find exactly the same spot and couldn't. But the heartbeat I heard earlier was loud and clear. I've used a fetoscope with an earlier pregnancy and couldn't get a heartbeat until 20 weeks, so I was surprised to hear anything at 17 weeks. My experience from last time was that the younger the baby, the harder it was to find the heartbeat--you just have to catch them exactly right, and if the placenta is in the way or something it is hard. After about 30 weeks I could find a heartbeat pretty consistently. It's really an amazing experience to hear that little racing pa-pa-pa-pa-pa, and serves as a nice reassurance to me when I maybe haven't been feeling as much movement as usual. Well worth the investment. Don't expect it to sound like a doppler, but I was surprised at the clarity of the sound I got with this fetoscope.
