I developed insomnia a few months ago and have tried all kinds of non-drug remedies. Since I've never been able to sleep with a fan running, I didn't think a white noise machine would work, but since nothing else had, I decided to give one a try. After researching various products, I chose the Marpac 980A. I've had it for three weeks and even though I use it on its lowest settings, it has been amazing. It blocks out enough ambient noise and isn't too loud. I'm definitely sleeping better and highly recommend this product.Customer Review: Worth every penny!

I bought this for my daughter at 3 months to help her sleep as I was about to burn my vacuum cleaner. I worked! It relaxes my baby. She is now conditioned that when she hears the noise-she knows it is time to go to sleep. This has been a life saver. It is also easy to travel with, the noise is constant and soothing, it even helps me relax and sleep better. It is a little pricey and I was sceptical at first but I was sleep deprieved and desperate. I'm not sorry I bought it...I should have gotten it sooner. I love it.Customer Review: Perfect for babies

I have this for my 2 year old. It is awesome, blocks every sound and she sleeps through anything, the tv, talking, shower, alarm clock, or any other noise in the house. I feel confident that when I put her to bed, she will not wake up because of noise. Will be purchasing another one for the new baby. Can still hear her move and call out with a baby monitor. Actually, it is great, I can hear her noise machine through the monitor and it acts like one in our room also! I love this, and it is so durable.Customer Review: Amazing

Wow!! It is unbelievable what this product has done for our lives!! We not only had to deal with a rooster that crows from 3 in the morning on but one of the only noturnal dogs there is. We needed the dog to scare off wildlife that killed our chickens...but he barks incessantly at night and sleeps the whole day. From the first night of using this product we have not heard a single thing. The dog is protecting our livestock while we are happily sleeping soundly. It is wonderful.Customer Review: Soothing

My son is a very light sleeper. We had a sound machine that had your different options, i.e. ocean, heartbeat, white noise, etc. and he preferred the white noise. The heartbeat could be heard slightly while the white noise was going. When it broke we found this one and he really likes it. He sleeps good and doesn't complain about noises like he use to. We live in the country but visit the city often and he sleeps good both places using this machine. It has been a good purchase.
