Customer Review: Just buy them at Walgreens, don't waste time here

As everyone else has said, they work great initially. The honest answer is that each pair lasts two nights. You have to be wasteful if you want a good nights rest. They are more comfortable than anything else out there, but unfortunately spending $6 every two weeks starts to get on your nerves.
My most important recommendation is to get these at Wallgreens. The price is a couple dollars cheaper than what is offered here and you get them immediately with out wait time. Mack's Pillow Soft Silicone Earplugs, Value Pack 6 Pair

I took up swimming in the pool as exercise for my back and someone suggested these silicone ear plugs to prevent water going into your ears in the swimming pool.
These ear plugs are fine for blocking noise, but not for preventing water going into your ear.
The ear plugs that work well for swimming are these Aqua Sphere conical swimmers ear plugs

I had thought that this product would be a alternate to the tradionial foam ear plugs which I'm use to.I liked the fact that they mold to your ear.I have been wearing the foam earplugs and ear muffs for work on the tarmac of the airport for many years.I bought the silicone ear plugs for a 'snoring' partner and figured they would work just fine for that purpose and filter some internal/external noise.They did neither.They did create mositure inside the ear canal,sticks to your pillow,hair,sheets,filthy after 2 uses,picks up dust bunnies(better than a swifter) and sticks to my dogs!They were my dogs favorite treat when they found them stuck on the linens or me ;}
There is a certain way to insert foam ear plugs and make sure you get the correct decibels for what you want/need them to filter.Not all ear plugs fit everyone comfortably, so you might have to try a few varities or brands. As long as you keep them clean and you wash your hands(if dirty) prior to use you shouldn't have an issue with foam ear plugs. For me and the years I have been wearing them for protection, theres nothing like the comfort of foam.

I used these guys as an alternative to the foam kind hoping to get something that would be more effective in blocking sound. That they were. The plugs did a great job blocking sound and are also a smart idea for blocking water in a pool when swimming, another reason I picked them up. While I wouldn't say that they can NEVER be worn safely, I would NOT suggest using them as a sleeping aid.
I put them on the first night for the initial reason I purchased them; to block out the incessant barking coming from the next-door neighbor's full-sized standard poodle. The poodle did not wake me up that night. However the earplugs did, or rather the pain they were causing. The earplugs created a vacuum in my ear canal, causing a painful suction. This perpetuated an ear ache that lasted 2 full weeks. Whether it did irreparable harm to my hearing is yet to be seen but needless to say I won't be using them again.
If you do buy them, please use them with care.

I have been a long time Mack's earplug user, love the little blue/green foam plugs. I tried this kind because the store that I usually bought the other kind from quit carrying them. I figured that since I liked the other kind in this same brand that I would most likely like these as well...not so much. I ended up just using these for five nights. Every single night, one or both would fall out of my ear(s). I cleaned my hands before putting them in and I cleaned my ears, it didn't make a bit of difference. I would never buy these again, I ended up finding an online store that sold the other kind, the kind that I love.
