I broke my distal fib this winter cross country skiing. During my healing process, which has been extended due to a non-union healing, I have had the opportunity to try 3 different ankle supports. I found the MalleoTrain to be the best of the three products that I have used. It is the most comfortable, versatile. The initial product given to me by the orthopedic surgeon was only useful while in the boot. The second product was helpful, but as my function improved, it became too constrictive. This support can fit into my shoe easily, provides support, but allows the flexibility ranges I need as I re-gain my range of motion and strength.
Description of MalleoTrain Ankle Support - Right II
This knitted ankle support incorporates an anatomically-contoured silicone inset lying posterior to the medial and lateral malleolus and over the front of the foot.The silicone insert leaves malleoli pressure-free and provides intermittent compression to the soft tissue of the joint, leading to increased circulation, thus aiding in the resorption of swelling and edema.
Promotes proprioception, thus heightening sensory awareness in the ankle for increased joint stabilization. The anatomical knit carries controlled compression graduated at the edges to prevent constriction of circulation.
It is lightweight, breathable, will not retain heat and is completely machine washable.

Size is determined by measuring around the narrowest point of the ankle.
