Customer Review: Very Good Addition to the Marpac Travel Sound Machine

We ordered one of these for next day delivery when our 110 - 220 volt ac adapter (from Radio Shack - dual voltage and lighter than the one originally supplied by Marsona) suddenly died and we didn't want to pay $31 for a new one (Marpac charges only $14.95 for an international adapter).
This is a light plastic unit measuring 2" x 6" x 7/8" that is just large enough to hold SIX x AA batteries in a two x three across configuraton. A small philips screwdriver is needed to open the back to change batteries. The correct "tip" is permanently attached to a short wire.
Weight with batteries is 7 oz; the domestic ac adapter supplied with our Marpac unit (don't know what they are supplying now) weighs almost 9 oz and the dual voltage weighs over 10 oz.
With a new set of premium batteries, the pack ran for 9 nights and started losing power and pulsing erratically sometime during the 10th (figure between 75 and 80 toal hours at almost full volume).
Summary: If you have the Marsona sound machine, use it only for travel a week or so at a time (and hopefully buy batteries in bulk), this is a very useful addition.
