We bought this for our son when he was born, 6 yrs ago. We have since had a daughter (now 2) and we tried the cheaper route for a noise maker for her room. We have bought/returned/worn through 3 different noise makers to go the cheaper route...we should have known that you get what you pay for. We just purchased our 2nd Marpac Lifesounds machine for our daughter, so we now have two in the house. Both work awesome (even the one that's 6 yrs old) and are worth every penny. They also have an option for batteries...which has helped tremendously when the power goes out or we need to travel. I highly recommend this product!
