I received the product from SimplyBeautiful and noticed right away that the case the razor comes in is cracked down the middle of the clear top part and the clasp is broke off so the lid will not stay shut by itself. The top head of the razor has a manufacturing error where the metal tapers off on one side. This leaves a corner of the blade sticking out on one side since the head plate is not pushing the razor blade down to conform to a nice arch at this particular spot. It is not that noticeable with out close inspection. I have used DE razors for about a year and have not had any problems with a Merkur 180 log handle classic and an HD 38C, but this one kept nicking me. After about a week of use and receiving small nicks I closely examined the razor and found that the head is leaving the blade sticking out on one corner. I can not return the razor because SimplyBeautiful only allows 7 days after receiving the package to return. They also do not except a used Item. I can understand that there is a hygiene worry about a used Item but after spending $70 on a razor I believe that you should be able to return it free of charge if you find a manufacturing defect. After contacting the Merkur company (Dovco) they are going to send me a generic head for the razor. This will be missing the line marker that allows easy assemble to assure the caliber will match up. I also can not get a working case that I was hoping to use for travel. This is a large waist of money. I highly recommend ordering the Long handle progress directly from Amazon. This would allow easier return of defected products. I will have to give the company 2 starts for bad quality control for such expensive merchandise that is so simplistic. With the company SimplyBeautiful and not excepting returns mor than shifts by review below one start.
