I was shocked when my supply seemed to drop drastically when my son was almost 7 months old. I thought that wouldn't happen to a stay-at-home-mom but he had started sleeping through the night and was too distracted during the day to nurse frequently. One day he just quit completely due to my lowered supply and super slow let-down. The pediatrician told me to wean him to formula but I dreaded the thought of buying it and washing bottles. I tried this thinking it was probably a huge waste of money and I would see a slight increase at best. Not true! After taking only 2 pills, I noticed quite a difference and after a couple days of taking them, I was waking up in the morning slightly engorged (like I had been before). I am so amazed how well and how quickly this worked! I have read that it may not work very well for heavier women (over 150 lbs.) I have no idea if that is true but I am 142.
The only side effect I have noticed is some gas but I've only been taking them for 3 days so my body may adjust with time.
