Customer Review: Saved me from a breastfeeding nightmare!

When my daughter was 6 weeks old, I had to return to work. Since I was exclusively breastfeeding, I knew that I would have to pump on each of my breaks to ensure that she had enough milk, and also that my breasts were being stimulated to keep my supply up. Everything was going fine, up until she was 5 months old. One day, I was pumping on my lunch break as usual, and instead of the normal 7 to 8 ounces that I pumped, I barely pumped 3 ounces! I was a little shocked, but figured that I would just be able to make up for it during my next pumping session...wrong! The next pumping session produced even less milk, and I absolutely did not know what to do, since I needed about 20 ounces of milk for the following day, and I only had 5 ounces. I ended up staying up all that night pumping as much milk as I could, and managed to get most of what I needed to get by, but was completely frustrated and stressed as to why my milk supply had suddenly decreased. My first inclination was that I might have been expecting again, but a negative pregnancy test the next day left me even more clueless than before. I ended up calling my lactation consultant, who recommeded that I buy the More Milk Plus and begin taking it immediately. I ended up choosing this product as it was safe for expecting mothers (as we do not use birth control), and I am so glad that I did! I literally noticed an increase at the first pumping session I had after taking this supplement, and I continued to produce more and more milk at each subsequent session, until I was actually producing more milk than I had before. I was taking the maximum dosage recommended for my weight (1 mL 4 x's per day), and had to continue that dosage because I noticed a decrease in my supply when trying to drop a dosage. If you take the maximum daily dosage, an 8 oz. bottle will last you approximately 2 months. To me, it is a small price to pay to continue being able to nurse my daughter.
The taste is kind of off-putting at first (it tastes kind of like prune juice), but you get used to it after a while. The company recommends not taking any liquids 20 minutes before AND after taking a dose for maximum effectiveness.
I am so thankful for this product, and the fact that it has allowed me to continue to nurse my daughter. I would highly recommend this product to anyone else suffering from low supply issues (especially those who are or may become pregnant!). Thank you Motherlove!!!
