Sprained my knee and wanted something to provide better support than the nonsense you can buy at CVS or Rite Aid. This brace definitely stabilized my knee and allowed me to walk (somewhat) normal. I agree with one of the other reviewers - while not painful, you'll definitely know you're wearing it.
