recommended in the last 6-8 weeks by my midwife to take two orally daily (one in the morning, one at night) and once vaginally (right before bed) to help thin and soften the cervix. started doing this only 3-4 weeks before being checked and was already 70% effaced to her surprise (most women take a whole day of laboring to help her get to that point, she commented). these gels are tiny too; smaller than a vitamin e capsule even.
